More details on the protections:
@TheSteinLine: Protections on the 2019 first-round pick Atlanta will receive from Dallas in the Luka Doncic deal, per league sources: 1-to-5 protected in 2019; 1-to-5 in 2020; 1-to-3 in 2021; 1-to-3 in 2022; fully unprotected in 2023. Dallas obviously hopes it conveys next June

Not crazy about Brunson. Like that he is a competitor, but his athleticism and quickness are nil.

Carlisle: "I never think you can have too many playmakers on a team."

Not a fan of Brunson pick. Another guard? Really? I can't believe I wasted my time staying up for a guard pick in the 2nd. SMH GRRRRRR!

I hate it as much as you but it looks like Rick will play Barnes at PF....better get a damn good rebounding/shot-blocking center.

I actually like Brunson a lot as a backup pg who can knock down shots and play efficiently. But a guard or 2 has to go.

I cant see Rick going back to what he even considered a failed experiment.
Alls I know is I'm going to lose my fucking mind if we go back to small ball. I'll start the fire Rick thread myself.

I think we’re all in on Antoine “Boogie” Walker
Plus Barnes and McDermott may be PFs this year despite him trying to force it last year and admitting it failed

Definitely think we screwed the pooch on the 33rd pick. A slow, can't play defense pg makes no sense.

I like Brunson as a player, but not sure he really fits a need for us. Would rather take a chance on a long athletic guy like Melvin Frazier. Clearly the FO has additional moves in mind. Anticlimactic night considering all the trade talk the Mavs were involved in predraft. Guess the FO would rather chase free agents with our cap space than acquire shit contracts + assets.

Just watching the highlights on this Mitchell Robinson kid. Almost wished we would have taken a chance on him over Brunson. We have been waiting on a long athletic center.

Yeah, there’s a good chance he ends up being one of the best centers in the draft... Still don’t get the Brunson pick, he just doesn’t fit our needs.
