As vs Rangers
Here it is....the all important 4 game HOME series vs the A's. Tonight's matchup, Kirk Saarloos vs Little R.A. Dickey. ....on a side note, Narron makes his major league debut on Friday night...I can't wait. What to expect from Narron? He'll pitch a nice game and end up on the DL for the rest of the season. Isn't that how it works out for the top pitching prospects for the Rangers this season?

RE: As vs Rangers
Good job so far. Sori's homer was great. Tex tehn went back-to-back.
Nice.

I do love baseball. Perhaps one of my favorite things is the immediacy with which you get to start over again.....get shut out twice in a row, don't worry, you'll play again tomorrow.

R.A. Dickey looks bad...really bad. Hopefully he won't blow it here in the 4th..

RE:As vs Rangers
Yep, he did.
Surely there has to be a better option than him. I know he got off to a nice start in the season, but ever since his shutout in Boston, he's been garbage in almost every one of his starts. I'd just assume the Rangers go with an extremely inconsistent Benoit. At least you find out for sure whether or not you want to keep him around after the season.

RE:As vs Rangers
That is just so disappointing. One strike away twice. No ability to get out of jams at all.
Is nice to see something besides 0's beside Texas on the box score though. Comforting to see hits from guys like Soriano & Blalock who were really slumping.

An intelligent lady that also knows here baseball? This site is good...dang good.
As for Dickey..well, he just didn't throw enough strikes. He walked his way into trouble and missed within the strike zone on several other occasions.

Oh Lord, the ever changing strike zone...
Ump's got a different strike zone for left handed pitchers compared to right handed pitchers....

RE:As vs Rangers
Aaaaand a rain delay. In the middle of a bullpen battle. Mahay was terrific, we just stranded too many guys.

I do not know that if it is home runs but what frustrates me is that you can see the talent in both these guys. They are just underperforming.

exactly...lack of clutch hitting. However, that is a nice change. It implies that they're at least doing enough hitting to get runners into scoring position. It's been awhile since they've done that.

atleast it wasn't a shut out. If Soriano didn't swing in his last at bat, he would have been walked and scored, and the game would have been tied...oh well, atleast he was able to lay off swinging at first

Yeah. I mean there were some positives to come out of this game. Just a depressing way to lose, is all.

RE: As vs Rangers
Hopefully Narron can go 6 innings and only give up 3 runs...something no other pitcher but Rogers, Drese, and Dominguez(whos hurt) seems to be able to do. Regilio did it, but only went 5 innings

RE:As vs Rangers
Narron gives up a HR & a double in the first. Hope he calms down.
In trade deadline news, ESPN News is saying Fullmer to the Padres for a prospect or 2. Can't believe anyone would trade for Fullmer when he's on the DL & obviously not recovered from surgery. I can't find confirmation anywhere though.

RE:As vs Rangers
Actually it looks like that deal has fallen through b/c of complications w/Fullmer's DL status. Oh well.
Well Narron didn't even make it to the 4th. Sigh.

Driese had an off day for a change but he is not the only one to blame. We had two errors resulting in 3 runs scored.

9-4 A's in the 7th innings. There appears to be no -co-ordination at all.
