Default Right-Wingers Push Obama Protest Through GM Boycott

WASHINGTON -- Right-wing radio hosts says there's only one choice for conservatives angry about government involvement in the auto industry: Boycott GM.

"Nobody wants to support an Obama company," Rush Limbaugh told his audience, citing a poll showing that 17 percent of Americans backed a boycott of GM, the Detroit News reported.

Limbaugh didn't outright call for a boycott, but said he understood why people would want to avoid GM vehicles. "They don't want to patronize Obama. They don't want to do anything to make Obama's policies work."

Added conservative host Hugh Hewitt online: "Every dollar spent with GM is a dollar spent against free enterprise."
Really?

Partisan politics are gutting America - like Rome, we'll collapse from within...

Ah...they are just blowing smoke at Obama taking over the car makers. Conservatives won't have to boycott GM. Once the guvment gets ahold of them, they are done anyway. I expect they'll decrease their pickup lines and more profitable larger cars in the holy grail of climate change.

Ford/Toyota will take their sales as they are coming close now. I'm still interested to see how Ford/Toyota compete if GM/Chrysler get into trouble.

Quote:
As recently as 2004, GM's market share was 27.3%. Its sales were nearly 50% greater than then No. 2 Ford and more than double those of Toyota.

Today, GM's U.S. market share is just 19.5%, down from 22.3% in 2008. Toyota is second in the market with a 16.2% share so far this year, followed by Ford at 15.1%.

this isn't very surprising, after all limbaugh said earlier that he wanted the economy to get even worse so he could say that obama's policies failed.

that's not how a true patriot would act or speak. a true patriot would want our country to be successful no matter which political party received credit.

limbaugh doesn't care about anything but himself, his ratings, his income and his egotistical view of his importance.

Obama's policies will fail without any help from rush.

We are WAY too wealthy, as a nation, to enjoy any sort of patriotism.

And have been, for a good long while.

I expect all of the Barry zealots to be purchasing GM products to show their support. Rrrriiiiiggghhhhttttt.

Sorta like all of those extra tax dollars that the left are always stating they believe they should be paying.

D'em lefties better get on the shtick.

Quote:
GOvernment Motors reported a 33.4 sales drop in June compared to last year. Ford sales dropped 10.7% however the company reported a gain in market share.
Yahoo Finance reported, via Free Republic:
Ford US sales fall 10.7 pct in June, while GM drops 33.4 and Chrysler tumbles 42 pct

Ford's June sales showed signs of stabilization, as the healthiest Detroit automaker posted its smallest sales decline of the year at 10.7 percent. It also said it gained market share. But Chrysler Group LLC, just weeks after exiting bankruptcy protection, reported a 42 percent drop in sales, hurt by a big cut in fleet sales and declines in all its models except the Dodge Challenger muscle car.

GM reported a 33.4 percent sales drop, slightly larger than the 30 percent drop it reported for May before it entered bankruptcy protection. GM plans to sell or close Pontiac, Saturn, Hummer and Saab to focus on four core brands -- Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC and Buick.

June sales from other automakers indicated that the industry downturn has begun leveling off. Toyota's U.S. sales fell 32 percent in June to 131,654 units -- a smaller decline than in previous months for the Japanese automaker.

The crazy part is that many were boycotting FORD due to their affiliation with the Gay and Lesbian community.

Why not take a page out "X"? Build up and support only from your affiliation.

Start up a Conservative Motors employing disgruntled employees who lost their jobs in Detroit due to the current economic conditions.

Do the same with other products and services so that those who want to buy based on politics can do so.

Pretty soon everyone is going to boycott everything, which makes no freakin sense!!!

Enough is enough, is it not apparent that so many of these politicians want nothing more than to see us ripping each other apart, while they continue to get more and more rich and powerful.

The further we get, the more it begins to seem plausible that citizens can revolt and get rid of the current government.

It's like the old frog in the pot of water...gradually the heat to the pot is turned up, the frog doesn't notice until he dies in the boiling water.

We the citizens are the frog, and our government has and continues to turn up the heat...will we sit by and let it boil over until we are all dead, or will we rise up and stand up to our criminal government?

I don't know about you, but I would rather not wait until its too late...all though I fear we may have already crossed that line...

I expect that the continuing unemployment is going to bite dems in the rear end big time (as it should). They've spent a trilling bucks for nothing.

just how much is a "trilling bucks"?

to phrase it correctly, if the unemployment rate doesn't improve by mid-term elections it may be an issue the republicans can use to their advantage.
