Default Mavs @ New Orleans Gameday thread

The Mavericks, coming off a huge victory in the season opener, visit their newly appointed division rivals the New Orleans Hornets. After a dismal road record last season, get ready for the Mavericks to set the tone early and remain undefeated in the early goings of the NBA season.

Mavs - 103
Hornets - 92

I predict Harris will do some OWNING on Baron tonight. There should be some good defense played by the PGs. A defensive battle if you will....

Mavs 101
NO 95

Harris will have more of a struggle with Davis's physical style than with Bibby last night...it will be a good test for the kid.

Who guards Dirk on this team? Another big game for Dirk, Damp pulls down more boards tonight...

That was so much fun last night, I can't believe we get to do it again today.

Last year still has me squeamish about road games, but I think Mavs will pull this one off.

Mavs 97, Hornets 89. Dampier will have to shut down P.J. Brown on the offensive glass. Sorry for the ignorance, but is Magloire playing? If he isn't, this is a walk-over. But of course, I am presuming he is, so the HOrnets defense will not be easy to break down, certainly not as easy as that of Sacramento. Go Mavs!

SI.com's game preview has some guy called "Steve Finley" scoring 11 of his 18 popints for Dallas against the Kings yesterday. Justthought you should know.

And that injury reports look sreally bad for the Hornets, they seem to be quite banged up, but I expect most of them to play anyhow. PErhaps Wesley will sit out again, other than that, nothing.

I think Mavs lag off a bit due to the success of yesterdays game and it being a back to back.

blowout tonight because the hornets have underachieved for the last 4 years and they'll be even worse this year

baron davis will shoot 25 times including 15 threes and end up making about 8-10 shots..

we'll have a tougher game than last night: 91-87 Mavs

tough game tonight. Late travel night and playing a team at home in their home opener. I think we need a big game from Damp and Terry tonight. If Baron is healthy then he is going to come out with guns-a-firing. It will be a good test for Harris, but Baron when motivated is one of the better players in the league. I think we will need more minutes out of Terry tonight. Also, NO has always been strong in the paint...not sure if they are this year though. Dampier has to limit a lot of the board crashing and easy inside points.

Would also like to see a little bit more minutes for Daniels, although with our glut of swingmen it is hard to get everyone minutes.

When you have to play a hyped up team on the road, for there home opener, and we coming off a back end of a back to back you would usually look for a let down. If we can stay close after quater #1 then we should be able to pull out a victory.

Dallas - 95
NO - 89

I like seeing Dirk out beyond the arc tonight for some odd reason. Last night to start the game, he got the ball on the high post repeatedly. Tonight, let's just place him out beyond the arc.
