Fire
There was a fire in my apartment building. I can barely stay in here with all of the smoke that creeped into my unit. Can't wait to get the hell out of apartments and back into a house. Luckily, only smoke filled my unit and not flames.

When the fire strikes your house, it's going to take it completely down. Nothing will be left but embers. Were I you, I'd start thinking about what I wanted to get out of there first. Keep it in a place near the door.
I'd recommend against selecting any Rockets memorabilia. It's too cumbersome, and honestly...is it really worth anything anyway?

Oh very classy negative rep capitolcity. "I'll use more gasoline next time."
I know cussing is strongly discouraged here, but you dude. That fire got close to my unit, and the smoke in here was a level 6 according to the fireman just now. four more notches up, and I couldn't stay here.

Sorry to hear that, GuerillaBlack. Even though I think your taste in sports sucks, I wish no one any harm due to their shitty sports affiliation.

The real question is:
In real danger you spent what could have been your final moments being an attention whore on an oposing-team's website. Are you REALLY dumb, are you just that obsessed with getting online attention, or did you make the whole thing up?
I think you would get a lot more empathy if instead of fishing for attention here you gathered up some stuff and got it in your car in case you needed to evacuate.

I don't need to evacuate. They cleared my unit about 90 minutes ago. The situation is fine here. Only thing bugging is the smell of the smoke that is still lingering around. The fire happened around 6 PM.

She has a point.
Can you please provide a link to the thread you created on your home teams web site for this occasion? So we can see what they had to say?
(Btw, that sucks. That happened to me a couple of years back. My stuff was ok, but it's freaky-deaky for sure)

Just made one here. It was in no way my final moments though. I was outside for about three hours I am guessing. Firefighters are some amazing people. The things they do to put out fire is pretty amazing. I wish I had my cell phone, but left it inside (I just ran my ass out, and didn't think to grab it).
This was the only thing worrying me about moving into an apartment for six months. If a fire happens in one unit, it will spread to others. I guess I gained that phobia from the news.

So you're saying that this board is better than anything that your team could produce?
(I'm glad your stuff is ok)

Feels more community here. At Clutchfans, there is too many people. A smaller Rockets forum would be better. But, I'm going to spray some more lysol, and try to sleep through this smell.

I just googled clutchfans because of you. Wow what a shi#hole.
http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread...=146263&page=1
These jokers are still calling Dirk soft... Thsi first guy is a racist. Three guys of the five he names are europeans? He can't even spell their names. Why exactly are Ray Allen or Michael Redd tougher than Stojakovic? Because they have a bigger d#ck?
What makes Joe Johnson, Vince Carter, Jamison, David West, Melo, TMac, Danny Granger, Rip Hamilton less soft than Dirk?
This guy is sitting on his couch with his beaten down job and is calling Dirk soft to make himself feel better.
A guy who goes to battle every night. A guy who takes more punishment than anyone in the league, because coaches think roughing him up is the best way to stop him. A guy who goes out there after injury quicker than anybody in sports. A guy who fights every day to get better, instead of stagnating and settling like Jermaine O'Neal, Lamar Odom, Ricky Davis, Al Harrington and thousands of others. What an assh§le.

I don't know. Clutchfans is full of idiots. When you get a big site like that, idiots start outnumbering the reasonable people. There is a better basketball talk site, but it is in the basketball section of a Texans board.

on a related note. I lived in a 22 story condo. building last year. (i was on the 18th floor) Some idiot had a fire in his unit, 3 floors directly above me. 500 gallons of fresh water came out of the sprinklers. The water flooded every unit from the 21st floor down to the 1st floor. I think it affected like 25 units total. It was awful. I had all my carpet replaced. My crib was a wreck for 2 months. It was tuurrible.

I feel bad for the unit next door. The people just moved in a month a go, and had a lot of things in boxes still. Wiring is the reason for the fire (started in their apartment).
