This is gonna be a tough one. Hopefully the Mavs are embarassed about the Minny loss and come out fired up.
Celtics 105
Mavs 108

I think we have this one easily..
114 Mavs
98 Celtics
Walker and Pierce combine for 6-38 from the field but we'll still give up damn near 100 points.

I hate to say it, but Dallas drops this one too.
Delk torches the Mavs in his Celtic opener, and puts up a career high in points & made three's.
Does this sound familier?

If they get here, they can play....otherwise the Mavs are playing with an incomplete bench. Look for plenty of minutes for everyone.

Yeah, you have to chalk this one up to a loss.
It's kinda like last year. We made the big trade and was short-handed.
Going up against this Boston team is too much for only 8 players.

I think we can win... but we've got to come out with a lot of energy. (And we should, shouldn't we? After all, after hearing the trade I feel like I could go out and do a 360 windmill dunk. Surely it would affect the Mavs the same way.)

I guess that tonight we'll kind of get a peek at how important Hardaway and Howard really were.

well, if dirk, fin and nash have decent to good games, i predict a mavs win...no different than usual for me.
howard meant little offensively and even less defensively..so, we'll see

One good thing is that Fin has 4 assists already, so maybe he's thinking about shooting less tonight.

If they start playing some defense, they will blow the Celtics out.

Well... they only dressed 8 players. It is mandatory that you have 3(?) players on IR....

Well, Dirk, Fin and Nash each have 2 turnovers apiece.
Dirk is the only one going offensively, but he's getting the most shots, so we'll see if the others pick it up.

I noticed that many of the turnovers occured while Nash was on the bench. We only have one ball-handler tonight you know... When nash is out that means Fin is running the point. We all know what a disaster that can be.

If not Nash's 3, maybe Fin's dunk will get them going.

I had never heard that it was mandatory to have three men on the IR. That is very interesting.

No, its not necessary to have any players (much less 3) on the injured list. However, you cannot get a player in a trade and then immediately put him on the injured list. Since none of the 4 we have coming in were on the injured list previously, Nelson had to put somebody on the injured list to make room for them.

I can't believe O'brien got a tech. His team is winning and the refs are giving them huge leeway in going for steals to the point they had 2 team fouls in the quarter.

it doesn't appear that the mavs are getting many calls when they have the ball inside on offense..but, the mavs have played poorly..they're lucky to be in it

Thanks, Hoop.
Most teams have 15 players... so they always have a few on IR to juggle.
I knew it was "fake" injuries because of the trade, but didn't know the exact rule.
And we are playing sloppily. Btw, did we waive Charlie Bell. He's a point guard we could've used in uniform tonight. Heh. God, we can't dribble at all.
