I think it's that only 2 million is guaranteed next season. So his 7.3 mil. comes off their books and we pay the guaranteed $ (presumably). So i think his value will actually increase after the season.

His value actually decreases after this Season as he wouldn't provide enough cap relief for anyone.

What? His value skyrockets during the offseason because he's an immediately (all but) expiring contract. You know how rare it is to be able to include an immediate expiring contract during on offseason?

The full contract is not guaranteed, but that's still his salary slot in a trade.
