Torn meniscus

Well this season just keeps getting better.

Is it mathematically possible to get our pick back from Boston?

More time for Anderson. Is it too late to sign someone? Shawne williams is free. Honestly the mavs have played well with or without Parsons.

The sooner the better for the surgery so he can come back strong next season. Too bad Evans is out for the season. Mavs could use a wing player. Looks for lots of Wes at the three. Lots of guards and bigs on the roster but very few wing players.

As long as a player becomes a FA before March 1st, they can sign with any team and be playoff eligible up until the last day of the season... But we'd have to waive a player to make room, since Chandler is still on our 15-man roster -- no injury reserve in the NBA.

Next season is going to be interesting... Does Parsons opt out?
He's had great stats since he fully recovered from his last injury, but this is the second season in a row that he's been shut down... That's gotta affect his value.

Parsons still plans to opt out.
Mavs still plan to pursue him

Well I'm now open to just about anything this off season. Before I thought it was a fairly easy call to give him his max to keep him. I admit all of my hesitancy stems from Wes though. Parsons came back nicely this last time and this injury won't cause him to miss his off season stuff, but that doesn't change the fact that we have had him for 2 seasons and 2 seasons he has been shelved for a right knee injury. At this moment I'm not committed to anything, that may change when free agency comes around though.
I'm not even convinced Simba will get any extra time. Instead we will probably find a way to put CV3 on the floor, at least if my eyes are bleeding I can't watch the train wreck I guess.

Geez, are we really giving a max contract to a guy who injured the same knee two seasons in a row at almost the same time during the season?
It'll be interesting to see how well Deron plays from here out. If he blossoms with Parsons out, then this summer will be interesting.

Get ready for a heavy dosage of PGs and ultra small ball. Rick made a comment before the last game that Matthews might have to play some at the 4 with Parsons out.

Which is another interesting point: What happens if Matthews gets injured? The team would be wise to shut him down, but I suppose Wes is in command of him getting to play.
But it will be interesting to see how he does without Parsons in the lineup as well.

I don't see much of a change happening, his game is not ball dominant since he can't create off the dribble for himself or for others like Parsons can...Deron on the other hand needs the ball to be effective so this should help him being more engaged earlier in games (hopefully).

Okay Rick, here's your chance. Let's go with a bigger lineup and play Mejri, ZaZa and McGee at center with Lee and Dirk at the 4. Keep guards in guard spots please! There should be no pressure at all on you. Try something different. Hell, roll out a two towers or even and 3 towers look for a change of pace.

Anderson is going to get more minutes for sure.
I also can't see Mejri not getting more consistent minutes.
Hope Dirks legs are feeling strong, because he's going to have to carry the team.

Day 1 of next season I want to see peak Parsons. If he's still here.
He can always be moved if this thing continues next season and on.

Only if he opts in.
If we give him a max deal and this thing continues, we'll be stuck with him.

How the Mavericks can survive Chandler Parsons' absence
Lots of great quotes from Carlisle in there, and pretty well-written... TCat is basically the new BG.

Now that I think about it. There's no need for Donnie to panic and pickup someone new. Unless Marion is in shape to chip in. Otherwise let's see how Anderson can contribute. Mostly on the defense end. Parsons was okay playing defense with the starters. But from what I have seen from Justin. His defense is not bad for a rookie.

They're saying Parsons could probably be able to play latter down the regular season perhaps playoffs.

Why? It wont hurt the fan to see a Parsons comeback if the Mavs make it to playoffs. Not to mention his NBA contract value. He could be looked at as injury prone or not worth signing.

McGee is so far down the depth chart that Rick would probably play Barea at center before him.

I think he shouldn't come back until the 2nd round of the POs.

It's a shame, Chandler Parsons scoring was looking good for 2016 so far. 2 seasons in a row, Parsons won't be able to make the playoffs (if Dallas even makes it).
