Default Minnesota/New Jersey idea

Minnesota trades:
SG Latrell Sprewell (16.8 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.5 apg in 37.8 minutes)
PG Sam Cassell (19.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 7.3 apg in 35.0 minutes)
C Michael Olowokandi (6.5 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 0.6 apg in 21.5 minutes)

Minnesota receives:
PG Jason Kidd (15.5 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 9.2 apg in 36.5 minutes)
C Alonzo Mourning (8.0 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 0.7 apg in 17.9 minutes)
PF Aaron Williams (6.3 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.1 apg in 18.6 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -13.3 ppg, -0.1 rpg, and -0.4 apg.

New Jersey trades:
PG Jason Kidd (15.5 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 9.2 apg in 36.5 minutes)
C Alonzo Mourning (8.0 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 0.7 apg in 17.9 minutes)
PF Aaron Williams (6.3 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.1 apg in 18.6 minutes)

New Jersey receives:
SG Latrell Sprewell (16.8 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.5 apg in 82 games)
PG Sam Cassell (19.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 7.3 apg in 81 games)
C Michael Olowokandi (6.5 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 0.6 apg in 43 games)
Change in team outlook: +13.3 ppg, +0.1 rpg, and +0.4 apg.

Minnesota wants Kidd, Kidd wants to leave Jersey, Mourning wants to leave Jersey, and Jersey wants to cut payroll like gangbusters. Sprewell expires, and that's 14 million off their books...makes them better in the short term, as well. Minnesota gets rid of the two current locker room problems, and in the long run, gets better.

New Jersey gets better in the short term, gets a legit center with Olowokandi for awhile, and again, cuts payroll.

the question must of course be: huh?

there is no way that just to get rid of headaches, the Pups are going to throw away the team that got them farther than they ever got in franchise history....and in return take two possible geriatrics

Good trade for both teams. Mourning and A Train would add some serious toughness to that Wolves frontline, something it is missing right now. Kidd takes over the PG spot, Wally gets his starting spot alongside Hassell, and Hudson is your combo guard off the bench.

And for the Nets it is great, they save major cash.

Funny.

But aren't most nicknames from what players call each other rather than what the NBA PR office or fans or media come up with?

I don't know... Who came up with "Junkyard Dog" or "Big Country" or "The Answer"???

The answer to what by the way??? To what the house was made out of that the Big Bad Wolf could NOT blow down???
