Default Minutes vs. Production

There was always a correlation betrween Finley's production and his minutes. The same holds true for Dirk. Look at these stats, and I'll still say that Dirk will produce if he is given his magic number of 39 **every game**.......

39+ minutes
FGM 8.56
FGA 18.84
FG% 45.4%
PPG23.96
RPG 9.72
APG 2.93
BPG 1.25
SPG 1.25

Below 39 minutes
FGM 6.3
FGA 14.3
FG% 44%
PPG 17.83
RPG 7.41
APG 2.66
BPG 1.5
SPG 0.91

It's amazing Everything is worse except for his blocks which aren't that much better. Perhaps Nelson might want to look into it. Of course, you could make the argument that Dirk doesn't need to be worn down. But then again... all I'm asking is him to average what he did last year. Not something extraordinary.

Default RE: Minutes vs. Production

how about benching him for the first 8 minutes and playing him for the rest. he doesn't show up in the first half anyway....

amen to that
Dirk's more of a come-from-behind in the 4th quarter kind of player, anyway. Leave some room for Daniels and Howard to play at the beginning of the game.

How about we bench #8 for the first 5 minutes of the game? Maybe THAT would wake up, Mr.I'm-not-playing-defense-if-no-one-else-is.
