Successful Scenario Due to Dallas being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Dallas had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Dallas does it to get Brand of course. LA does it to cut money with Finleys contract, or just trade him because its alot of money to come off somebodys book. LA is rumored to be going after Mobley, FA from Kings. Thoughts?

UMMMMM not OK! This is one of the worst trade ideas ever!!!!!
Lets see, Brand is a terrific player & so is Maggette. These guys are so good that Sterling actually is willing to PAY these guys. Not only does the Mavs get the best player in the trade they get the 2 best players in the trade. I seriously doubt that Sterling will ever pay 1 cent worth of luxury tax. If he traded for Finley & cut him he'd lose so much money (52 mil) on that deal he'd probably have a coronary and die. That is one man who does not lose money. Ever! |
