Not surprising but is Bob Hill really the answer? I guess not much is out there to choose from though.

Has bob weiss ever had success anywhere? He just seems like another guy, sort of like the Van Gundy's who have just hung around long enough to be hired by desperate GMs.

I'm glad they fired him. I'm not a Sonics fan, but damn it wasn't fun watching them play with Weiss as coach. Hopefully they'll catch some of their old form back with a new coach.

Weiss is a career assistant. He was for all intents and purposes an interim coach in Seattle. Anywhere he's ever been hired for the head job as been as a transitional placeholder.

Seattle couldn't possibly have expected anything else. He knew it, the players knew it.

Sund and the ownership let McMillian go without really having a plan for moving forward, and they just dumped it in Weiss's lap for a while. That very rarely works as the players have little to no incentive to get behind that type of temporary situation.

As for the Van Gundys....JVG actually seems to be well-regarded both by his players and other coaches. The hardest people on him always seem to be the fans. He has a system that he's been able to get some success out of, and more often than not he's able to get his players to play hard for him within that system. But it's not necessarily the kind of ball that the average casual fan is gonna get into. So they end up dumping on JVG.

SVG did fine last year with the Heat. Riles really sullied his own repuation by setting him up that way. SVG will coach again and have some success. I'm not sure the same can be said for Riley.

Hey, they gotta have low expectations now, and Nelson should be able to exceed that. I'm sure Nelson has a man crush for Ridnour as well as Ray Allen and LEWIS. Lewis could be his point forward, Ridnour his Nash pt. 2, and Ray Allen his unbelievable shooter. I'd love to see Nelson take on the Sonics.

Interesting.

But the Sonics look like they need more than the year or two Nellie seems to have left in him.

I doulbt he'd wanna work for Sund either after having been his own GM for so long.

But interesting.
