Default Another New York Trade

Dallas trades: SF Jerry Stackhouse (13.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 4.0 apg in 29.8 minutes)
C Calvin Booth (4.9 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 0.4 apg in 17.0 minutes)
Dallas receives: SF Tim Thomas (14.7 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.9 apg in 31.6 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -4.1 ppg, -2.7 rpg, and -2.5 apg.

New York trades: SF Tim Thomas (14.7 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.9 apg in 31.6 minutes)
New York receives: SF Jerry Stackhouse (13.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 4.0 apg in 26 games)
C Calvin Booth (4.9 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 0.4 apg in 71 games)
Change in team outlook: +4.1 ppg, +2.7 rpg, and +2.5 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

New York gets another person to play center, plus a more efficient scorer in Stackhouse.

Dallas gets someone who could play some backup 3 and 4, which would open up a little bit more time for Howard/Finley/Daniels.

Terry(33)/Harris(15)
Finley(35)/Daniels(26)
Howard(25)/Thomas(10)
Dirk(38)/Thomas(10)
Dampier(30)/Bradley(14)/Pavel(2)/DJ(2)

This trade makes some sense.
I, however, am not a fan of Tim Thomas. He is the picture of inconsistancy and for all his talents just does not produce.
I would like to see what Stack does here. If the minutes can be worked out so he gets enough to be happy as well as productive then I believe he has the type of game that will compliment the other Mavs players.

Not sure I'd do it, but I might see what was offered on this one.

How about? If NY throws in a draft pick?

New York trades: SF Tim Thomas (14.7 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.9 apg in 31.6 minutes)
C Kurt Thomas (11.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 31.9 minutes)
New York receives: PF Alan Henderson (4.0 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 11.3 minutes)
SF Jerry Stackhouse (13.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 4.0 apg in 29.8 minutes)
C Calvin Booth (4.9 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 0.4 apg in 17.0 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -3.0 ppg, -2.1 rpg, and +0.9 apg.

Dallas trades: PF Alan Henderson (4.0 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 11.3 minutes)
SF Jerry Stackhouse (13.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 4.0 apg in 29.8 minutes)
C Calvin Booth (4.9 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 0.4 apg in 17.0 minutes)
Dallas receives: SF Tim Thomas (14.7 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.9 apg in 66 games)
C Kurt Thomas (11.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 80 games)
Change in team outlook: +3.0 ppg, +2.1 rpg, and -0.9 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

maybe ? ? ? Just something to think about in the long off-season.

That one is a little more intrigueing.
Dirk would probably get a few minutes at the 3...at least in certain matchups. KT could pull 25 minutes as a backup 4/5 but TT's minutes would be pretty few.

Agreed, but against teams like Sac and Sea, where their main offensive SF is 6'10", then TThomas and Howard should be able to hold down the defense on them.

That trade actually gets very intriguing because KT could back up Dirk, and Damp. The matchups would be very strange.

If you could get Fin to buy into the 6th man role (when he comes in, he becomes option #2 or #1), and get everyone else to buy into 20-25 min a game instead of needing 30+......Nellie would be in "matchup heaven". Enough Tweeners to play virtually anyone, anyway. Of the starting 10 only Harris, Damp, and Bradley would have only one position they would be strapped to.

Terry, Harris
Daniels, Finley
TThomas, Howard
Nowitzki, KThomas
Damp, Bradley

IR Rotation: Benga, PPod, AJ, Dickau,

Buyout: TAW, Esch

How about small ball of Harris, Terry, Finley, KThomas, Nowitzki?
How about tall ball of Terry, Howard, TThomas, Nowitzki, Bradley?
How about Inside/Out of Harris, Finley, Nowitzki, KThomas, Dampier?
How about Slash with Terry, Daniels, Howard, KThomas, Dampier?
How about a 1/2 court of Terry, Finley, TThomas, Nowitzki, Dampier?
How about a defensive set of Terry, Daniels, Howard, TThomas, Bradley?

The only thing is that if you think TT is a defensive player you are sadly mistaken. Finley would and has played Peja much better than TT ever would.

Peja takes himself out of the games, he forces it in high pressure situations....

Mike, you gonna make it down to the LSU game this year?

No chance.
Dallas to Auburn is a long trip...plus I'm coaching 4th grade Pee Wee Football and our games are on Saturdays.
It should be a good game.

I haven't paid alot of attention to TT over the years, but if he isn't a good defender, then I am not for the trade at all. He doesn't have to be Artest or Kirilenko, but at least be descent.

He's not a good defender at all...and what's worse is he doesn't seem to even try hard.

It isnt a bad tradem in fact i was posting Tim Thomas trades left and right before the dampier trade. But i feel that if Thomas was brought in... it wouldnt be to play 20 minutes. I think it would be more like:

Terry (32)/Harris(12)/Daniels(4)
Daniels(22)/Finley(19)/Howard(7)
Finley(15)/Howard (16)/ TT(17)
Dirk (38)/TT (10)
Damp(30)/Brad(14)/DJ(4)

Finley would just start the halves at SF, then get put back to SG while either backup (TT, J-Ho) takes over the SF

Damlmations.... No way that the trade would give us both Kurt and Tim Thomas.

Then I wouldn't consider the trade. Stack has more talent than the both of them.

even with a few inches on him...
tim thomas is a 'what could have been' or a 'what should have been player' he just doesnt have it in him
