Default Vince Carter for Baron Davis

Vince wants to go; Baron wants to go; how about a trade including both of them:

Toronto trades: SF Vince Carter (22.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.8 apg in 38.1 minutes)
PF Chris Bosh (11.5 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 1.0 apg in 33.5 minutes)
PF Jerome Moiso (2.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 0.2 apg in 11.9 minutes)
Toronto receives: PG Baron Davis (22.9 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 7.5 apg in 40.1 minutes)
C Jamaal Magloire (13.7 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 1.1 apg in 33.9 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -0.3 ppg, -0.8 rpg, and +2.6 apg.

New Orleans trades: PG Baron Davis (22.9 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 7.5 apg in 40.1 minutes)
C Jamaal Magloire (13.7 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 1.1 apg in 33.9 minutes)
New Orleans receives: SF Vince Carter (22.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.8 apg in 73 games)
PF Chris Bosh (11.5 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 1.0 apg in 75 games)
PF Jerome Moiso (2.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 0.2 apg in 35 games)
Change in team outlook: +0.3 ppg, +0.8 rpg, and -2.6 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

Why New Orleans does it: The Hornets need to fill seats. If Vinsanity won't do it, then who would? Bosh for Magloire is a wash, in terms of talent, but Toronto insists on getting the Canadian back to do the deal. Moiso is there because someone had to move to balance the salaries. He might help some as a backup and he's French. Maybe they would like that in the Big Easy.

Why Toronto does it: Vince has to move. Baron Davis keeps the talent level up, while Magloire helps retain fan interest--he's one of Canada's best players. It hurts to lose Bosch, but Toronto is OK in the paint with Magloire, Marshall and the rookie Araujo.

(I must be so bored to bother with a non-Mavericks trade).

This makes tons of sense. Somehow I bet Baron doesn't want to go to Toronto though, and I am guessing that VC doesn't want to end up in NO in the West now. Other than it would probably PO both of the "Stars", looks like a very sensible trade to me.

Well they both want to be traded to contenders.. the Hornets with Davis are closer to contenders than the Hornets with Vince, or the Raptors with Vince/Davis... although I could see Davis on the Hornets sneaking up in the Eastern standings.. the trade's pretty much a wash if you ask me.. but if I'm a GM I'd rather have Davis than Carter.

I would absolutely do the deal from a toronto perspective. A pure point and a center in one deal. It makes zero sense for New Orleans unless they plan to rebuild. New Orleans loses all the toughness in the paint for three swingmen. Rejected deal thanks for playing.

The point for New Orleans is to fill the seats. Vince would do that better than anybody else they could get.

Default RE:Vince Carter for Baron Davis

New Orleans is more like the left lineup as against the current lineup:

Armstrong B. Davis
Carter Wesley
Mashburn Mashburn
Bosch P.J. Brown
P.J. Brown Magliore

Reserves:

Wesley (could he play point?)
J.R. Smith
Lynch
Rodney Rogers
Chris Anderen
David West
Moiso

--maybe pick up Dickau when Dallas cuts him or whomever Chicago cuts
--does pretty much stink, but then Davis-Wesley-Mashburn-P.J.Brown-Magliore isn't that wonderful--and V.C. would fill the seats
