V has a spectacular aura aboutV has a spectacular aura about
Default Philly

First you trade Fin + $2mil cash for Mashburn, McKie, and Ollie

Finley____15.9____17.3____18.6_____51.8
Cash____________________________-2
Total____________________________ 49.8

Mash____10______10.8____________20.8
Mckie____6_______6.5_____7_______19.5
Ollie_____3_______3.2_____3.3_____9.5
________________________________49.8

Next you S&T Wahad + Bradley + $3mil cash for Dalembert

Sixers waive Finley; Bradley retires; cash pays the guaranteed portion of Wahad's deal. Obviously this is a financial move, not a basketball move. But the savings would be staggering ... and perhaps enough to convince Philly to do the deal.

A) I'm pretty sure that you can't waive a player if they are traded to avoid the luxury tax.
B) S&T TAW? I doubt insurance companies will allow an injured player to be signed a new contract, and pay out the whole term of that contract if they are never healthy.

A) Didn't know that. You mean if a team trades for Fin they can't waive him to avoide lux tax? Damn.
B) I meant to say do S&T for Dalembert with Mavs sending Wahad + Bradley + 3mil cash

The funny thing is ... it's ridiculous to think the Mavs could trade Wahad + Bradley + cash for Dalembert. But with the structure of the CBA I think it would make sense given the tremendous financial savings and roster flexibility the deal would provide.

If you think Wahad + Bradley are too crazy then pick KVH or any two other salaries who would fall within 125% of the contract you expect Dalembert to sign. In all seriousness, I think Terry + Wahad gets the deal done.

The deal would be Fin, Terry, Wahad + cash for Mash, McKie, Ollie, Dalembert

Unless the mavs acquire stephon marbury. Terry is more valuable than Dalembert. So far Harris doesn't look ready for the mavs starting job.
