it was kind of a funky game though...good defense by both sides. it seems like the Red Wings' luck finally just ran out...they got everything that first game (if i recall correctly)...weird shots, etc. They had some of those opportunities tonight that just didn't fall their way (the shot off the post that almost tied the game).

Yeah, I'm sure he meant to shoot it off Stall in a manner such that it would hit the post or go in

You're right. Their luck ran out to some degree, but Fleury finally got his S together in the last two games. He was great. The Wings were just off tonight....way too many offsides. Very unlike them.

I love it.

Hossa signs a one year deal to buy a cup and he plays 104 games only to see it pass just beyond his grasp. Good. Screw him for trying to sell his soul for a cup.

A lot of people hate this guy...the same people that hate Tiger, I guess.

Sorry, but he chose the exact right path for him. A lot of people could have been this, but they're accountants or drunks or whatever....but sometimes people follow the path that is right for them. These people turn out like Tiger, A-rod, and Syd the Kid. This is what he was meant to do:

So I BARELY watch any Hockey but I definitely made sure to tivo the game and I just got done watching it. I was rooting for the Pens because they were the underdog and the younger team trying to knock off the vets. It was definitely a very exciting game. Detroit looked like they were trying impose their will and rattle the Pens in the first period. After that it didn't seem like they had much left and they were dragging from the middle of the 2nd going forward.

It was a good game for sure and it lived up to my expectations.

Sweet dude. I'm a big fan of the SBNation community (although the SBNation Mavs blog sucks).

Congrats on that.

Sorry, peanut :-/

I see that the Canucks have to go on a 14 game road trip because of the winter olympics. Ouch.

This may not be the best place to put this, because it isn't really hockey specific, but we put together a round table discussion with Bob Sturm, Mike Heika, and Greg Wyshynski (who writes the Yahoo Sports Puck Daddy blog) about the role of "new media" in sports coverage.

We asked them questions about the waning of the newspaper, and the credibility of the blogs, etc.... It's a long read, but a good one I think, if you're into that kind of thing.

Is there any good news in here? The Mavs section is making me very grumpy right now.

And, no crap on Bertuzzi....how he keeps drawing a paycheck is beyond me.

Didn't go, but I was glued to the Home Screen...glad to see they moved it to HD yesterday.

The final sucked, but the game was pretty good. I believe the Stars outplayed Trashville, with the exception of giving up a couple of bad luck goals.

At least we got a point out of the game.
