Wolves trying to unload Antonio Daniels

Minnesota Timberwolves president David Kahn is trying to make one more deal before the season gets underway, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

He's apparently looking to deal Antonio Daniels(notes) to somewhere he can get more playing time. He did the same thing for Quentin Richardson(notes) when he sent him to the Miami Heat for Mark Blount(notes).

But don't think he's doing it just to be a nice guy. Kahn wants to get the $6.6 million contract of Daniels off of his head, but he says he'd take another big expiring contract in exchange.

Kahn told the paper that he believes helping players will pay off for the Timberwolves down the road in other ways.

***I have always though Daniels would be a good fit here.
Pretty good defender, good Assist to TO ratio, can score, good size.
I don't know if his playing time would be that much better.
He could play in the back court with Jet and we wouldn't have the size mismatches of Jet and JJ.
He could be a 2 or 3 for 1 guy that gets our roster size to 14-15 and still be able to help the team.

I think the Mavericks are going to be opportunistic. Not every deal has to be a home run some can be solid singles or doubles. The Mavericks have sixteen men on the roster some two for one deals seem to be in order. I just don't see how Daniels fits on this squad. Barea, Kidd and Beoubois at the two and Terry scooping up most of the sixth man minutes.
