Don't the first and third responses mean the same thing? I mean, doesn't Cuban "lose face" because Cowlishaw was out of line?

cheap plug, don't vote for an owner that is looking more and more like jerry jones every day. Next thing you know, cuban will be the GM of the mavs and everything will go down hill
stop the b.s. now

cheapest plug - Cuban can never become Jerry Jones because Barry Switzer isn't on the job market.

don nelson won't be there forever..
next think you'll know..you'll hear cuban saying "this team could win with anyone as the coach"...
and the mavs will end up hiring barry switzer as coach...and cuban will take on the role as gm

But Nellie plans to GM for a LONG time. Didn't he just sign like a 10 year contract during the off-season after Cuban bought the team?

Well, Murph... let's get Barry Switzer as coach. We could run the Wishbone.... maybe bring Boz in here to be our enforcer if Shaq gets a little out of line...

MFFL - Cuban DID extend an offer to Bobby Knight soon after he was fired from Indiana. Isn't that kind of the same thing?

Personally, I have had that little guy on my shoulder arguing with the other guy on the other shoulder for awhile as far as 'Cubes" is concerned. And if you do not have a clue to that statement, then don't read this post any further.
Granted 'Cubes' has his positive points. However, it would appear to the average person that 'Cubes" is getting a bit to full of himself to speak.Hummmmmm. He is the owner, but he is not a coach. He has employed the best and many to coach. He makes an ass out of himself being a sideline-fan-type coach. He knows-not-what he is talking about. The coaches put up with his comments/ideas because he signs their pay checks. We all bite our........everyday on that kind of stuff.
If he wants to learn the game.........watch tape, Cubes at your place, invite your 'large coaching staff' over and listen.
Knowledge has never been known to enter via an open mouth.

Very well put Kat.
I can't blame the guy for being passionate, but the businness man in him needs to wake up. If I was a potenial NBA fan looking for a team to root for, I certainly wouldn't choose the outspoken, spoiled brat. I love how he stands up for himself and the Mavs, but maybe bite your toungue every once and a while and be the bigger man.

i can't blame the guy for being passionate either.
but there's a difference between being passionate and getting close to being in the way and/or an annoyance.

Not as a head coach though. Cuban offered him a consulting position. And even if Knight were to become the coach (God help us all) there is NO WAY IN HELL he would put up with Cuban giving him advice. He'd probably throw a chair at him.
