Here are most of the more covetted big men available

Etan Thomas
Chris Mihm
KMart
Vlade
Chris Anderson
Memhet Okur
Rasheed Wallace
Stromile Swift

I'm sure I missed a couple

Also of note this list doesn't include players (like Nash), who will beopting out of their contracts at the seasons end,

If you want to keep Daniels, it will take a significant portion of the MLE, leaving very little for a starting Center. You would be able to get someone like Slavko Vranes to see if he could develop. Etan Thomas, Chris Andersen, or Mikki Moore are people I would like to see in our Center rotation.

The only other way I can see getting a starting center is through a S&T, using Walker. I do wonder if we could get Mihm somehow by trading Fortson to Boston. I sure do like the Celtic's Mark Blount.

EDITORIAL: I heard Nellie on with Norm this morning indicating that unless Bradley steps it up he is about ready to give up on him. I thought it was obvious to everyone that he already gave up on Bradley. I am now hoping that the trade Bradley to a team that will use him in fairness to Bradley.

Wish List:
Memhet Okur
Mihm
Anderson

Realistically you could pry one of these guys with part of the midlevel exception.

I think Okur is going to get very very close to the MLE if not all of it. As for the other two I think they can be had for about 2.5-3MM

Why do people want Mihm? He sucks and I'm not saying that as an Aggie. Here is a general rule of thumb for all big men coming out of college. If they don't have at least 1 game over 30 pts or one with over 20 boards in a four year career they will suck. Every impact big around should have at least 1 game that they dominate and Mihm never did. I'm sure I'm being over the top on this, but he really does not have a good game. He does not block shots, does not get steals, probably does not run the floor well. He seems to rebound decent, and shoots medicore. If we pick him up, I hope I wrong.

Out of that list, you can make a case for Okur and a few of the bigger free agents. But I love two golden state big men that no one ever talks about.

Adnonal Foyle and Brian Cardinal.

These guys wouldn't cost that much and probably one will be available for the mavs to be had at the MLE. These two guys are some of the hardest players when they are in the game. Both have different types of games and could both start at center, even though Brian would be undersized. My choice, Foyle, he is a dominant shotblocker and with minutes, gets rebounds and scores around the basket. I love his attitude and heart, both of these guys will not take crap from anyone and be that hard nosed people we need.

As for guard depth, I think Damon Jones has shown that he can play the back up role and do a nice job of it. He had a 17 assist game when he started for T.J. Ford, has been around the league, but seems to have found a way to play, finally. This would be a hard sign if we got Foyle, he should take the whole MLE, and I think Marquis takes the LLE, leaving nothing for any of the other free agents.

EDIT: All of you that are in love with Etan remember who drafted him? Yes that is right, the Dallas Mavericks. Never played a minute, if I remember right and I seriously doubt he would play for us, and he is really undersized. But has come out to be a good back up in Washington.

Mihm did a very nice job while with Cleveland last year. But, he couldn't get on the court much while with Boston.

I'd like to see us attempt to bring in Anderson from the Nuggets. An athletic big with a lot of potential and upside is never bad

Of those that we could realistically acquire, Foyle, Ostertag, and Willis interest me the most.

You know, you bring something up that I had almost forgotten. It may be irrelevant now that Danny Ainge is running the show in Boston, but Red Auerbach loved Danny Fortson. He commented many times how he felt that was a bad move for that franchise. I wonder if we could get something out of them for him? It's not that I don't like Danny. I just wonder if he's going to fit in with what is being done here.

As for Nellie saying that about Bradley, we may start hearing Shawn's name in more trade talks. I would hate that, but at the same time, if the Mavs won't use him, they might as well get something for him that they will use.

Brain Cardinal is frankly a bigger and better version of Eddie Najera.....I used to watch this guy play at Purdue, always thought he should of been on the football team, he plays like a friggin linebacker.......I would love to have Cardinal on this team.......

Cardinal - 6'8 245 lbs

Etan Thomas - 6'10 260 lbs.....if that is his actual height (which I doubt) could be good with his size

Chris Mihm - 7'0 265.......still young, big guy.....I would prefer him over Ostergtag because he still has his best basketball ahead of him....

Mehmet Okur - 6'11 249.........very intriguing, Nellie would actually play him........definetely one of the more expensive guys........would take up a HUGE (if not all) chunk of the MLE

Stromile Swift - 6'9 240.......athletic, would like if we got cheap......but he is not the answer for any of our problems.....

Mamadou N'Diaye - 7'0 255........good defender, great shotblocker.......I really like this guy in the center rotation.......still young.......

I probably should remind you that we did sign Mamadou and consequently waived him shortly after, getting Scott Williams in his place. I'm not sure he really likes us. Hell, if KMart wants to playin Dallas, I'm AOK with that!

Of course, he and Okur are the moer expensive guys to get. Perhaps that possible trade with the Magic is the answer. If not, I also like Foyle, maybe we should give him a shot. Of course,as much as I want a defensive-minded center, I also want Quis and Nash. Just about all of us do, they're both players that we simply cannot let go of, so maybe we'll just have to rely on a feasible trade.

Okur will not be available - might as well look elsewhere. If he goes for the MLE or less, DET will keep him as a RFA.
