Injuries continue for the Pacers
Pacers F Jackson taken to hospital
February 1, 2006
INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) - The Indiana Pacers' injury woes continued as starting forward Stephen Jackson was taken to the hospital during Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Jackson was attempting a driving layup with 2:15 left in the second quarter when he collided with Lakers forward Brian Cook and fell to the ground, landing awkwardly on his tailbone.
He remained on the ground clutching his lower back and had to be carried to the locker room by teammates Scot Pollard and David Harrison. Jackson, who is second on the team with 15.8 points a game, later was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
The Pacers already are without leading scorer and rebounder Jermaine O'Neal until at least mid-March because of a left groin tear. Starting point guard Jamaal Tinsley also is sidelined with a sore elbow.

Anyone here think the Pacers need to trade Tinsley? He's one of the best defensive PG's in the league, and I always thought he was a good fit for the, but he's not much on offense and it seems like he's injured more often than not.

How many guys do they have healthy now? I hate to se this team unravel. They were so close to being a great team recently.

I used to love this team back in the Spike Lee/Reggie Miller days but since Mr. Clutch retired last year I couldn't care less!

The fight didn't do them any good, but this is a proud franchise. I hated to see them crash like that.

Yeah... You're right about the fight... I don't wish them failure, but I guess I am disinterested with their franchise so I simply don't care! I feel for Bird though!

I think he's a better offensive player than you're giving him credit for. The problem is he can't stay healthy so I doubt they could get value for him right now.

I'm in the same boat as Dan, I was a huge Reggie fan, but I'm still somewhat attached to them because of him. I really feel for J O'Neal and those guys. They were headed towards being the team to beat in the East last year before the Brawl, and then Artest this year, and now the injuries. It's sad.
