Mil/NY/Atl
ESPN announced this deal about 5 minutes ago....
Bucks got:
Keith Van Horn
Knicks got:
Tim Thomas
Nazr Mohammed
Hawks got:
Joel Pryzbilla
Micheal Doleac
Wow...the Knicks got a decent young big man in Mohammed and a more than adequate player in Thomas? for spare Van Horn?? Wow. Walker's trade value must be enormous. What are the Hawks doing? What are the Bucks doing? Knicks clearly win this trade...in a landslide.

Knicks do okay, but I think the Bucks win the trade. Van Horn is clearly better than Tim Thomas.

Looks like Vescey may have finally hit on something
Thursday's trading deadline looming, the Knicks and Hawks are creeping closer toward a deal involving Nazr Mohammed and Michael Doleac, confirm sources on both sides of the negotiation. A third team is in the midst of being recruited to complete a transaction that promises to escalate into something considerably more significant.
Not sure how this improves the Knicks. I don't think they got much worse, but the point of this trade is not immediatly clear to me. Maybe Isiah really doesn't like white players.

RE:Mil/NY/Atl
Both Doleac and Przbilla are expiring contracts, so the purge of the Hawks continues.
As others have said, I don't think this does much for the Knicks....I am NOT a fan of Tim Thomas' game...

RE:Mil/NY/Atl
I can't stand Thomas. But this job of the Knicks perhaps shows he's probably the biggest racist in basketball. Could you imagine if a white GM traded away every black athlete for white athletes? But Thomas essentially did that with the Knicks. During Thomas' tenure, he has traded away or cut Vujanic, Lampe, Vranes, Van Horn, and Doleac. And the Knicks do not have a single white player on their team. That is strange to not have a single white player on your team.
As for the trade. The Knicks traded an underachieving, soft "power forward" who is maddeningly inconsistent for an underachieving, soft "small forward" who is maddeningly inconsistent. Seems like a wash to me. And Nazr is not that great. The only team that got something out of this deal is Atlanta who can let those scrubs leave after this year nd have some more cap space to perhaps lure Kobe/etc this summer.

Who's going to shoot the threes then?!?!

seriously though, has a team won in the last decade without a white guy at least polishing the pine? '03 Spurs had Kerr, '02 Lakers had Mad-V and Madsen...I cant remember much farther back than that

RE:Mil/NY/Atl
I like this deal for Milwaukee. I'm not a huge Van Horn fan, but I think he's better than Tim Thomas. Van Horn could help that team, and will allow them to play their own version of small ball more effectively.
Atlanta continue to clear cap room. At least their intentions are obvious. This should also clear anyone of thinking (I think most of us already knew) that Rasheed might be traded again. I think they're going to clear as much as they can as fast as they can.
New York continues to make waves. I think Zeke is trying to make them relevant again. Personally, I don't know if this helps them. Thomas has underacheived his whole life. The NY media will be brutal on him after the honeymoon is over. Mohammed looks like a backup center. He can help them some, but to me he's just a different kind of Doleac.

RE: Mil/NY/Atl
Actually I don´t know why Van Horn still carries the "underachieving" and "soft" label after his performance in NY - which was as far as I am concerned better than expected.
I think that´s just another of PR move by that other Thomas to get rid of a face he didn´t like anymore and to make that team more of his trademark team.
Neither Nazr Mohammed nor Tim Thomas were able to take the next step in their development and are stuck where they were 2 seasons ago.
Great move for the Bucks.

RE: Mil/NY/Atl
Thomas is just trying to win the fans over. simple as that. I mean i see his vision of having a running team, similar to the Nets, but i think he's using all his trade "pawns" too early. he's gonna lock his self into a certain roster by trading all his ending contracts and picks. It didn't help that he's traded or cut so many young players.

Tim Thomas is a spare. His only redeeming quality (at least in Isiah's mind), is that he's black. The fourth Reich has begun at Madison Square garden. Zieg Heil!

I don't have to worry about Walker being dealt to NY now....
...There aren't anymore white players on that team.

RE:Mil/NY/Atl
So many great one-liners in this thread, it is hard for me to pikc one and proclaim it "genius." Therefore this trade must be proclaimed "genius."
