I'm reading the book right now but you definitely need to see the movie. Doesn't really bother with character development per se but does have good characters.

Pepper was the sniper in the bell tower that prayed before every shot. Great character.

Yeah he used it in SPR..... didn't find a great quote from him in We Were Soldiers..... but he shows a lot more emotion in We Were Soldiers then he did in SPR...

it's a good movie. like bayliss said, not much character development, but i thought it was good.
i swear barry pepper (a shorter, thinner, dirk) is in every war movie! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] he plays a reporter in this one.
