Default Playoffs GDT: NBA Finals, Game 3, 6/5/2011, 7:00 pm Central (ABC)

The NBA "experts" are now wondering aloud, asking themselves with trite cliches and meaningless "analysis" whether their predictions of the Mavericks' demise will ever come true. The Heat deny celebrations, collapses, and the moon landing in 1969. Little do they realize that they planned their parade too early, and now they are about to reap the vicious penalty.

Doubt and fear have arrived for the Heat. Tonight is the night that sheer terror sets in, as they begin to get a sense of their impending doom, and their helplessness to stop it. Tonight, the Mavericks land another devastating blow that will have Wade and his buddies holding their eye for a legitimate reason.

Mavericks win.

In the 2-3-2 series format (since 1985), when the NBA Finals is tied 1-1, the winner of Game 3 has gone on to win the series on all 10 occasions.

"The Mavericks returned home to Dallas early Friday afternoon. Their arrival at Love Field drew hundreds of fans and was described by an airport employee as "the closest I'll ever get to witnessing Beatle-mania." The excitement was short-lived however as the team plane actually landed at a different terminal than announced and the players immediately went to their cars. The majority of fans went home without seeing so much as a glimpse of Corey Brewer."

A couple things from Game 2 that I do not see happening again in Dallas...

• 11 of the Mavs 18 turnovers that led to 31 Miami points were UNFORCED.*

• Mike Bibby: 4 of 7 from three.*

How does Crawfod get so many key games? It is time for Stern to have him left out.

If Dirk gets off to a good start with the way Matrix has been playing on both ends I like Mavs to win by 14 today. I really want Mavs staff to double Wade and LeChoke and keep daring the spare parts of Heat to make shots. No way Bibby and Chalmers shoot that well again.

@MaverickOutlaw Bibby shot 4-7 from three, but Chalmers shot 1-6 from three in game 2.... it just happen to be a big one.

@Scott McGuire did Chamlers shoot ok from 2pt range? I thought he did. That is my point never seen Chalmers make any big shots this year.

@MaverickOutlaw... he did make 2-2 from 2 pt and shot 2-4 FT... Game 1 he shot 3-8 but all 3 makes were threes. In the playoffs he has averaged 3.6 3PA/game so he is doubling his attempts per game against us.

I think the team as a whole will try to limit their 3 point attempts after shooting 30 last game. I expect to see a ton of drives with calls being made. I also expect to see Tyson in foul trouble and us having to go small or go Ian unless Haywood wakes up with "a miracle".

I don't know if anyone has made this point but WOW were there only 4 FTs total in that last 7:30 of game 2 and only 8 total in the 4th quarter. Basketball looks a million times better without free throw parades.

The time reads 0:00 of the 4th quarter and the score board reads Mavs 98-99 Heat. But what the clock doesn't know is that there is a fast dropping, quickly-approaching ball, addressed "101 Hoop st, Tickle-The-Twine, TX." And the sender was a fella by the name of D. Nowitzki.

99-89 for the mavs.

+ Better performance by Terry, Peja.
+ Nowitzki's 30+
+ Wade struggles
+ Bibby, Chalmers, Miller are a non-factor
+ Mahinmi steps up
+ Better overall shooting performance
+ less turnovers

- Bosh, James will have an excellent game
- Marion struggles
- Haywood out, Chandler with foul problems out in the 4th

Let's go mavs!

Peja should not see the floor 1 minute tonight. Dirk CANNOT sit out 6 minutes in the first quarter. That's why we have slow starts. If it happens again tonight excluding foul trouble, I'd fire Carlisle right after the game.
