The only way we can win is if everybody gets hot from outside because there is no offensive reboundingor fast break points. And nobody is going to the hoop with Duncan and Horry there.

Finley was credited with the turnover but I believe it was off Henderson and you could see his frustration with the call for Spurs ball. Just now he got the rebound and Ginobli just took it away from him.
Hold on to the freakin' ball please.

The Mavs need to continue to get inside. Dirk, Finley, and Terry have done so this quarter, but Stackhouse needs to stop turning it over when he gets inside.

It doesn't look like were going to be able to get any closer than 6 points in this game... I don't think they will have what it takes to win this game now.. It's always been like this against the Spurs this year, always trading shots and keeping the difference to 10 and then the Spurs run away with it all.

Just read that Nash left their game early and the Suns got blown out. Maybe the injury bug is finally catching up with the Suns. 'Bout time.

Nelson draws up another great play coming out of the timeout and with only 2 seconds left on the shotclock. Stackhouse had a layup but Finley's pass goes right through his hands.

Stack has killed momentum atleast 6 times this game. We go on a lil streak and he manages to f it up. He better make these two free throws orr it will be his 7th momentum breaker.

Injuries are really hurting us this year. I hope we are healthy come playoff time.
Dirks really needs to step it up on D.

Anyone here think we need a realy good 3-pt shooter? Like one that nails it almost all the time? Cause in years past we were an intimidating team because of out perimiter shot and now we have no intimidating factors, which always give the opposing team more confidence.

Mavericks glance into the the Rear View Mirror:
Rockets and Grizzlies are coming up strong.
Not an overreaction, just the truth.
The 4 thru 8 spots are wide open.

Even if we lose this i've gained alot more respect from Dirk tonight. His stats have always showed he's a superstar but he's playing like one in this 4th quarter.

There will be a huge * next to this if the Spurs win. 3 key players for the Mavs out, and a terrible offensive interferrence call at the end of the game to make it a 2 possession game.

That summed up the game in one whole play. Second chances by Spurs, didn't get the rebound.

We wasted too much time to take the 3 and then we take a 2 when we had a must 3.

When you consider that we have three of our best players out and San Antonio is going full force you can't help but think that this Dallas team has the capability to win it all this year. All we have to do is get everyone healthy and clicking come playoff time and we have a REAL chance.

Even though this game will end in a close loss, I don't feel the Mavericks were about to win this at any point. Defense? Spurs shoot 50%. It almost seems like the Spurs kind of coasted through this game, didnt think the Mavs would get back and then did the right things to win.

Absolutely positive, there is no doubt about it. The ball was about to edge out when Duncan came in and touched it back when the ball was clearly within the cylinder.

dirk came to play tonight
but he really needs dampier to cover the paint when he's on the perimeter...you saw a couple plays where dirk was just wondering where the help was
basket interference wasn't called either..
i just hope the seeding doesn't come down to one game

RE:Dallas Mavericks at San Antonio Spurs Gameday thread
If the mavs learn to play with that desire and urgency they had at times in the 4th qtr, things will start looking up....
I think they finally believe they can go toe to toe with the Spurs again.....after not being competitive earlier this year....
I'd really like to see 2 things.......the refs not give san antonio every call at all the right times to quash any momentum the Mavs might have or to start/keep a spurs run going.....
and the Mavs players take a well placed forearm or elbow, thumb....and plant it hard and firmly in Parkers' frickin' adams apple the first few times he comes wildly bounding down the lane.....

RE:Dallas Mavericks at San Antonio Spurs Gameday thread
This sucks.... not winning against good teams really makes you wonder about the Mavs. It makes you question wether this team has any heart. Sure, a few players do show heart but they don't show it as well as San Antonio does; then again San Antonio has had a complete team for a while now. I don't know what will happen for the rest of the year but i'm kind of getting tired of just beating average or below average teams, and guess what? New Jersey is next.. sigh. We don't show any intimidating factors nor do we play with intensity like we do against the easy teams.
Man, these past two games tell us a lot about Josh Howard, Dampier, and Daniels. Only thing we have to look forward to right now is other teams losing. Timberwolves are on a huge slump, Suns have lost two games in a row, Houston is inconsisten, Kings are getting wins with a few loses here and there, Seattle has lost a few recent games, and the Lakers just lost Kobe.
So far the Mavs have been all talk and no show. This was a close game... so what? It's still a loss. This was no better than a blow out. We still haven't learned anything from playing the Spurs. I can't wait for Howard to return. This sucks.
