He changed to Jeff Schwartz who the Mavs have a good relationship with. Does that open the door for Cousins to the Mavs? Wasn’t Cuban interested in Boogie before the injuries?

@wojespn: The Grizzlies are trading Kyle Korver and Jevon Carter to the Suns for DeAnthony Melton, Josh Jackson 2020 second-round pick and 2021 conditional second-round pick, league sources tell ESPN.
@wojespn: The Grizzlies make a run at resurrecting the No. 4 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Josh Jackson.
@wojespn: Suns are planning to buyout the partially guaranteed contract of Kyle Korver, league sources tell ESPN. Lakers, Sixers and Bucks are frontrunners to sign Korver once he clears waivers, sources said.

@davidaldridgedc: Added motivation for Suns’ flurry of deals today, per source, is putting team in better position to re-sign RFA @KELLYOUBREJR. Sides have not yet fully engaged.

I get what they're saying but I have no idea what they are doing. Josh Jackson is young and cheap. I don't think Oubre is that great of a player to let him go for nothing just to see what he has. But they know him better than I do.

Josh Jackson is an idiot and has solid chancen to be out of the league after his rookie contract
Quote:
On February 2, 2017 it was reported by the Kansas City Star that Jackson and Kansas teammate LaGerald Vick were persons of interest in a vandalism case that had occurred the previous December outside a bar in Lawrence. [39] It was alleged that Jackson and Vick had damaged the car of McKenzie Calvert, a KU women's basketball player and Vick's ex-girlfriend.[40] She told police that during the incident outside the bar, Jackson yelled "for her to get out of the car and that he would beat her ass” prior to damaging her car.[40] Following the investigation by police, Jackson was charged with one count of misdemeanor criminal damage to property and was scheduled to be arraigned on April 12.[41] Following the announcement of the charges, Jackson released a statement apologizing for his role in the incident and offered to pay for damages

@wojespn: The Grizzlies are trading CJ Miles to Washington for Dwight Howard, league source tells ESPN. Deal saves Memphis $3.1M. Grizzles will waive or trade Howard, per source.

My first reaction was 'wtf are Thunder doing' but as it appears, PG13 requested the trade. Totally unexpected move that makes one wonder if Jerry West was pulling these strings for their agent to request a trade. Poor Westbrook.... OKC was not going anywhere but at least were fun to watch.

Trade deets:
The Clippers are sending the Thunder four unprotected first-round picks, one protected first-round pick and two pick swaps, league sources tell ESPN. Those picks go to OKC with Gallinari and SGA.
Marc Stein of The New York Times later clarified that OKC's picks broke down to the Clippers' unprotected firsts in 2022, '24 and '26, along with Miami firsts in '21 (unprotected; acquired in the Tobias Harris trade) and '23 (protected 1-14; acquired in the reported four-team Jimmy Butler trade days ago) as well as pick swaps in '23 and '25.

Here's a funny thing coming out of the Kawhi thriller: Nobody wants to play with LeBron. Here's the list of stars actively joining him since forming the Heatles: Anthony Davis. That's it.

And relying on their health is a big gamble. Is Anthony Davis ever healthy? We will see...

I think there is a fairly decent chance (30-40%) that the Lakers and/or the Nets have spectacular meltdowns due to their moves this off-season. The spectre of injury will be hanging around both of those teams like the grim reaper.
On a positive note, Carlisle is going to have to play some younger guys even more, so I'll definitely be rooting for more than a couple to make major steps forward in development. Obviously, the biggest candidates in order to me are Luka, Brunson, and Jackson (potentially huge if he really steps up). I think there is a decent chance that Jackson becomes one of the legitimate starters that we need this season, and Seth can be a part-time starter depending upon matchups.
I'm also tempted to see if Dragic could be had now that the dust has settled.

Oh especially the Nets who really only have Kyrie and Jordan this season. Good luck with that.

Not gonna lie, I really like that Clippers roster. That's a lot of defense on the perimeter and still a fantastic offense. Not in love with the front court depth but guys will join that team on buyouts 100%.

Yeah, on paper, a Clippers v. 76'ers Final would be somewhat of an old school defensive throwback matchup. At least to the degree possible within today's rules.

After the playoffs I was convinced that the Clippers were one Kawhi away from being a legit contender... Then they added him AND PG13... Right now they’re my favorite to win it all this year.

This.
Which makes me really happy that they’ll wreck the Lakers
Old Lebron, AD, and a bunch of spares will be okay but won’t be able to beat the team defense of the Clippers

Especially with Montrezl Harrell who is the most underrated player in the league. He might be my favorite non-Mav player.

Smart on his part. Max exposure with opportunity to be a solid contributor and win while showcasing value, if he has anything left. Better to be in LA playing under all that media attention than stuck in a place like say Phoenix or Cleveland.

Can't really call him a ring chaser when likely that was the only team who even offered him a one-year contract.

If that's all the interest Cousins was able to garner, then I expect to see Howard in the G League. Wouldn't that be awesome! LOL

Sam Amick: For those wondering, source tells @TheAthletic that OKC does this deal with full anticipation that Chris Paul will be part of a good team that now has a treasure trove of future assets. Gallinari, SGA, Adams, Roberson, Noel core, and EIGHT new 1st rounders, as @Travonne noted. – via Twitter sam_amick
How long before CP3 demands to be traded to a contender?

Presti must be thinking of trading Paul like Woj is already reporting, they already have Shai who has a lot of potential as a PG.
@wojespn
1h1 hour ago
Houston hoped to find third-team destination preferable to Chris Paul, but ultimately leaves it OKC to execute next step once Presti confers w/ CP3 agent Leon Rose. Miami remains possibility for Paul (3 years, $124M) -- and OKC obviously has picks to incentivize deal, if needed.

I like it for the Rockets. That squad wasn't going to be enough, even with Paul 100% healthy for a full season, of which we know the odds of happening. Westbrook is more durable and a better defender at this age, adding size and rebounding, and will get them back to run and gun. I think the Rockets can make Westbrook/Harden work way better than Paul/Harden.

Also, I take back any support for Grayson Allen. Apparently some idiots never learn. I gave him the benefit of the doubt of being a teenager and then again in his last year at Duke, but what a punk.

I'll take Allen and three more like him. That was a bullshit ejection from a bullshit summer ref, based on reputation alone.

I guess we watched different clips. It was a tantrum to a legit back screen (not even truly back screen, more side) and then retaliatory, lazy slap across the top of Williams' head after. Please don't try to tell me that was clean and unintentional.

Allen is going to be out of the league after his rookie contract.
