GO Mavs!
I'm going to this game. Going to shout 'til I pass out.
Happy Birthday to JHo.

Close it. Every game less for Howard is good, specially since Bowen could still pull a Bowen. Nuggets will finish the Hornets 4-1, so we should do too.
I also dont want to go back to Dallas with that micro chance that Mason/Finley/Bonner go crazy from outside.

Estoy muy nervioso about este partido, because yo pienso que los Spares are going to play their best game of the series.
Mavs in 6, FTW?
Or can mary triumph?
Tune in and see. On KTXA-21 HD. DO NOT WATCH ESPN OR TNT OR WHATEVER. I hate those $%ckers.

The only reason he hasnt yet is because Pop hasn't allowed Dirk or Jet to shoot the ball.
I'm really surprised he hasn't gone after Josh yet with his dirty step-under-the-jump-shooter cowardly bit. What a little bitch he is.

I think Spurs will win, holding out hope though that Parker struggles from the perimeter. GO MAVS!!!!!!!!

Since it's a road game, I think this one will be closer than usual: Mavs 140, Spurs 37.

Is it a bad sign Charles Barkley picked us to win game five?

You gotta handle the pressure/intensity in a close-out game. You know the Spurs are desperate and they'll do whatever they can to prolong the series. You gotta make sure you keep those role players in check, it's harder to do on their home court but it's vital to make sure you contain them if you're letting Parker and Duncan do the damage. You know the Spurs are going to give you their biggest punch tonight, they just need to weather the storm and be close heading into the 4th if they aren't ahead.
If Dallas can show poise like they did in Game 1, this is a wrap.
Go get it Dallas!

I have this weird feeling that the Spurs are going to completely lay an egg. Maybe I'm being a homer.

I kinda know what you mean. I'm knocking on all the wood around me, but I keep imagining and thinking that the Spurs just realize they are done and are basically going to wave the white flag at the game. Sure they will play big minutes for their starters, but they aren't gonna play hard. They know they are done.
Now that's what I keep IMAGINING will happen, I doubt that's actually the case, it's just how it works in my head.

I think it will be all about how the spurs roleplayers are starting.
If they start nice and hitting some or most of their first shots (specially Mason/Finley, maybe Gooden) then we have a game.
If we come out with the same energy level of the last games and their bench bricks again like crap then the game will be quick over. You will hear quick boos for the bench and Parker and Duncan will probably fold too....

Historically, there have been six teams in the first round of the NBA playoffs to have a 3-1 series lead after playing Game 1 on the road.
All six lost Game 5, but four went on to win Game 6. The other two lost in 7.

The two that lost Game 7 were the Lakers against the Suns (2006), and the Magic against the Pistons (2003).
I feel comfortable in saying that the Mavs are in a much better position relative to the Spurs than either of those teams were to the teams who were down 1-3.

I hope the Mavs don't come out with the mindset they had in game two. They need this one not only to win the series, but to put it in their heads that they can win on the road, that game one was not a fluke.
Go Mavs!!!!

Get Hollins some more minutes tonight.
You gotta love this Dirk quote on Hollins:
"I don't know what he takes before the game, but I got to get me some of that," Nowitzki said. "He's all over the place. He's like a one-man press on defense."
Mavs close it out and win 92-91.
Parker cools off and scores only 34 points in 42 minutes, Dirk gets hot and scores 23 points on 8 of 17 shooting and 6-6 FTs. Even better, Dirk sinks his first 3 pointer of the series right at the buzzer to win it.

The rational part of my brain says we lose game 5 and win game 6.
But I feel game 5 is very winnable. I feel the guys in blue have at this point established clear superiority to the Spurs. With Dirk being quiet in this series and Terry being well, pretty bad, while Parker/duncan have played very well the guys in blue are STILL up 3-1. Mavs are also 5-1 on the year against the Spurs when completely healthy.
One thing to watch out for is their 3-PT shooting. they shot 20% in Dallas but shoot much better @ home.

One more thing to be wary off is George Hill. he is just a rookie but his skill set is much better than the rest of the dinosaurs that occupy the 2/3 positions for the Spurs IMO.
He did play down the stretch in Game 4 and hit two big 3's.

maybe the spares will make it easy on us and give this one to us knowing that they can't win #6 and just want to go on vacation!
or maybe not... we need to try and win this one - it should be possible but probably will be close - 89-83 mavs.

The Spurs are backed up in the corner and I don't think they are going to go down easy. They will come out like they did in Game 2, if not better, so Mavs better be ready.
I really want this one. Go Mavs!!!

Mary's GDT power comforts me a little, but I will spend most of today in fear.

The 8:30 start is key.
It might be a little past TD's bed time.

As the GDT starter, I'm not really at liberty to say that I think someone will be taking over for Game 6.

That's absolutely right. When I say "lay an egg," I wasn't thinking another massive blowout like Game 3. I just have this feeling that the Spurs will come out with less fire than some are anticipating, and the Mavs will end up with a fairly comfortable win.
Guess we'll see.
