I registered few weeks ago but the number of telemarketing calls actually increased nowadays!! What the hell....??!!

The national do not call list will not go into effect until Oct. 1st, 2003.

Best tactic to get off the phone quick is to say you are housesitting. They are absolutely stuck at that point.

I know Ames is going to hate me, but I usually just cut them off in Mid sentence by saying "no thank you" and hang up.

Ohhh... alright thanks guys. Now I know why the telemarketers' calls increased. It's a last ditch effort before Oct. 1st. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
Anyway I don't need to give any excuses to the callers because they usually call when I'm away at work. They can talk all they want into the answering machine. It always crack me up when I receive this message that says: Congratulations, somebody wants YOU to fall in love blah blah blah... [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img] |

Signed up for this like 8+ months ago. It works great. Hardly ever get calls.

We've signed up for both the state and national list just to be safe.
Here's how we deal with it...we simply look at our caller ID...and if it says "unavailable" we simply don't answer. Those recorded calls that come in are just painful...you can't even tell them to go F* off...

I like to use this one:
Them: "hello I'm from..." Me: "Wait - are you the most important person in the room?" Them: "No" Me: "Then what the F$@# am I talking to you for?" Hang up. |
