Anyone buy a Camcorder lately?

So I'm in the market for a camcorder, and wanted to see if anyone had some advice. There's lots of options out there - MiniDV, DVD, Hard Drive - not to mention all the different brands.

I've always been kind of a SONY guy, especially with digital cameras, but that by no means has to apply here.

I think I'm leaning toward a Hard Drive recorder, simply because there's no media to mess with.

So, anyone have any advice? Any rave (or horrible) reviews of camcorders you've purchased?
