Goodbye Yao...
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...n/7342510.html
Quote:
Rockets center Yao Ming’s comeback suffered another devastating setback with a stress fracture found Thursday morning in his left ankle.
The injury is not in the same area as the previous stress fracture, but it is a major setback.
Tests taken after his Nov. 10 sprained ankle and subsequently did not show the injury.
Yao had said in the offseason that he would consider retirement if he had been unable to stay healthy.

Just call it a career and retire before he screw every bone in his feet

These guys who are over 7'5" or so just have such a tough time with chronic foot problems. It's pretty sad.
Except Shawn Bradley, who moreso had a problem with getting posterized.

Bradley didn't have any foot problems because, despite being 7'6", he still weighed only 110 pounds.

And he's Mormon, which means he's an honored follower of our lord and savior: Keith Van Horn.

Boy... I bet he wishes that he would've signed that fully-guaranteed extension the Rockets were apparently willing to offer him.

He got hurt during rehabilitation.
That's Greg Oden style.... and that's nothing to be proud of.

Yep, Yao is done. I just hope the Rockets don't resign him just for the sake keeping their fans in China happy. They need to do what is best for the team and move on.

Will he? Finding injuries while already being injured is a fairly bleak outlook...

This friggin sucks. No matter what team they play for, I always hate seeing a great player's career end so prematurely. I hated seeing it happen to T-Mac, and I hate seeing it happen to Yao even more because he's a truly unique player that I always loved to watch. There's never been another player quite like him and probably never will be. Not to mention he's always seemed like a really classy and just plain nice guy.

Long after he retires and leaves the game for good he'll still lead the West in All-Star voting.

I think he will be back. He's too valuable especially in Asia. With the prospect of a lockout, every market for revenue is critical.
