If players are concerned about playing in a city they like, that still doesn't compute for me. They're not home much, not all of them have families. They're practicing or on the road. After the season they leave for extended vacation. Then they go somewhere else to get focused offseason training.

Dirk just wasn?t in the cool kids club. But ultimately good players came and played with Dirk. Those AAU friends from Wade to Lebron?..he was never gonna play with them unless he wanted to. I think they?d like to play with a prime Dirk just not come to Dallas to do it.

None of them will last more than 5 games before powelltakez over the starting gig. They didn't give dude 3 years for 12 million to ride the bench.

That's why I was hoping for an Ayton or Turner trade because there would be a major out cry if either one of them were benched for Powell

Those other guys won't force much media or fan backlash when the mavs decide to start Powell for the 4th year in a row

Mos def. 3 year contract doesn't seem like the the kind of deal that you ride the pine and play 3rd fiddle while you mentor. Especially in DP situation.

When you have something you don't need listed for sale and someone offers more than what it's worth to you, it doesn't mean keeping it is a good deal or good idea. Idk, it's early and my analogy game isn't primed.

Not sure I agree with the ppl acting like the world is ending because Powell got a little more than minimum. He?s always been one the hardest workers in the league and is a culture setter. You need guys like that.

Man, why get your hopes up? Perfect fit and would take the pressure off of center.

So yeah, we either need a serious upgrade like him at the 4 or a serious upgrade at the 5. Either works and I don't think we need both right now.

I guess let's make the PJ thing make sense in terms of a realistic chance. I know Charlotte also rumored to want Grant Williams, so I'm guessing some sort of three way with Char, Boston, Dallas. Can't see Boston wanting THJ's contract though so it will likely have to be someone else.

I don't get the hype over PJ

He's not much a defender which is really what they lack right now.

I think Williams has offers more two way ability but neither guy imo is a huge roster upgrade.

One guy I would be intrigued with is Thybuile because dude a legit all nba defender and his 3 point shot looked much better in Portland after that trade.

I think I would prefer a legit starting center and then Thybuile on the wing defensively

Secondly, I doubt anything happens until the Harden thing is sorted out...which Woj reports could be September.

don't know about that. Other than Maxi the center rotation is pretty trashy. Maybe Lively will surprise but gotta expect he goes thru some adjustment period.

I'm starting to think Holmes might get playing time to prove he can still play but seems he is trade bait. Already know McGee probably will be gone so who cares if it now or later. I think Mavs will either have to stretch waive McGee or add 27 FRP and him to THj or Bullock to get a deal done. would charlotte take that deal for PJ to get future FRP.

Well, If they want Bol, I'd claim now and worry about rest later.

i thought the turn around time on a match was down to 24 hours.
let's say they offer and blazers match it just sets us back a little bit of time.

Totally against the Thybuille offer because Portland is going to match. And being made to look like fools again over Thybuille is typical Mavs FA.
