Anti-Mavs
I was just thinking about this after watching Around the Horn this afternoon, in which they talked about how the Mavs are just "pretenders", sucking up to their part time colleague JA Adande.
So, which is it? Are the Lakers that GOOD as they claim, or are the Mavericks that BAD as the claim? They lost by 11, with a 16 fta deficit. They kept surging back. Do they suck, or are the Lakers really a dream team? It can't be both.

RE: Anti-Mavs
The Mavs suck against the Lakers and also the Lakers are close to be a dream team -nightmare team for us.

I tell you what kitty, I hold out my judgement for when the mavs and the lakers are healthy....Dirk will make a big difference!.....and I'm not saying the game was close....just saying I'll hold off on my judgement!

RE:Anti-Mavs
Agreed, Sike. We're still not going to get it done against LA until we put the bad calls and fear behind us, but Dallas' strategy for matching up with the Lakers depends critically on us having AJ, AW, and ESPECIALLY Dirk healthy. Not succeeding without Dirk is by no means reason enough to discount this team's chances.

RE: Anti-Mavs
Well, we have had Dirk and they have been less good and still we haven't dominated them.
Their upgrades this year are better than our upgrades, then, why could this be different?

RE:Anti-Mavs
other than shaq(which I know is a big hurdle), they are pretty close....the Mavs can beat them....the biggest edge is a mental one...and coaching....we are starting to see that the "greatness" that is Nelson....may be wearing thin...at least with the fans....

RE: Anti-Mavs
As I said, it's enough about new players for the Mavs. It's time to check the headcoach.

RE:Anti-Mavs
If the mavs are pretenders then so is the rest of the league. As usual the media takes the hyperbolic route. come to think of it so do the fans.

RE:Anti-Mavs
Lakers are a good team, the best in the league right now. We're close but not there yet, perhaps when both teams play a game with all of their stars healthy a more justified judgement may be formed.
