Give me a break. Tracy McGrady? Already missed several games due to injuries, bad team. Kevin Garnett? His usual stats, but his team is so-so. Yao Ming when he's been outplayed by Marcus Camby. Blah

Update: actually this link - http://www.nba.com/news/allstar_051215.html is more useful. KG has more than 2x the votes that Dirk has. Disgusting. Plus Elton Brand has less votes than Amare who isnt even playing...

McGrady plays in Houston. Yao plays for Houston.

1+1 = 2

edit: Of course Wesley also plays for Houston and he only has 69,000. Maybe my assumption was wrong.

He has way more votes than he should. He shouldn't have any, yet somehow he's ahead of Terry?

Getting upset about fan votes for an all star game is kind of like rooting for the Hawks. It is pointless and no good can come fom it.

This discussion is coming up every year ... it's senseless to search for much logic in fan based votings

Yea its a game for the fans. Nothing more nothing less. Sometimes the best players don't make the team.

Why not give votes to Garnett? He's having another Garnett year. This game isn't about playing on a great team (Mavs) or a "so-so" team (Wolves).. it's about individual excellence/popularity on the court.. and Garnett is certainly a 4-category producer for the Wolves.. he and Dirk usually get my votes in the West.
