OFFICIAL NBA schedule thread. It's here!
Quote:
The National Basketball Association reportedly will release the 2016-17 regular-season schedule on Thursday at 5:45 p.m. ET, per Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News.
Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe confirmed the report.

Might be worth looking at the schedule for interesting games. Also, it usually marks the countdown to camp (around 6 weeks)

The OFFICIAL NBA schedule thread thread is really just an OFFICIAL NBA schedule teaser thread until tomorrow -- is that what's going on here?? Got my hopes up...
EL, do you happen to work in Hollywoo?

Sorry, I should have done a teaser THEN a trailer before it even came out. Maybe even a primetime ad during the Superbowl to announce when the teaser for the trailer would come out. Apologies!

well...
I don't like that we are playing the Rockets in a Friday and then again on Sunday
to start the season. I do think we will win both of those - but come on - I want to
see other teams early and this kind of match up for later in the season.
Mavs play 15 back-to-backs this season

First look it seemed that November will be tougher but March should be easy. Interesting to see 2 games of Harden so soon.

That actually seems like less than in previous years... Didn't we have 16 last year? And I think we had 19 a few years back when we were at our oldest.

Some reporters were saying that the NBA was going to completely phase out back-to-backs. I thought it was a good idea, because Silver did a statistical analysis and most injuries occurred when players played more games consecutively (B2B, 3 in 4, 4 in 5, etc.)
Guess not, but it does seem to be fewer B2Bs at least.

Let's hope the Rockets start this year like they did last year.

They started 3-4 and they ended 3-4. I think they were just the team of 3-4. Team barely hit .500 and I think they got appreciably worse in the offseason.
Add to that that we got a Chandler-level rim protector and kept our lock-down defender (Harden shot 44%/36% last year but only 36%/28% against us). Rockets aren't going to be a challenge.

Avg went from 19 two seasons ago, to 17 last year, to 16.3 this year. Nice to see the Mavs are under the avg

Don't really get the last two. Even GSW is so-so because it has more to do with Bogut and Barnes than Mavs.
Match-up with Spurs would be better if it was the last for Duncan. Since official last Dirk-vs-Timmy was without that announcement, it doesn't really matter. In short, game against Spurs is no more anticipated than before Duncan as they are the rivals.
OKC game I really don't get. It's like ESPN writers aren't even aware KD left. Winning or simply playing against OKC who knocked you out doesn't mean much when they had such a big change to their roster. It's one thing to get a revenge against KD and Westbrook, but it's another if you pretty much have Westbrook and bunch of new faces.
I would at least add Apr 11th vs Denver which may or may not be Dirk's last game in Dallas. Kind of sucks how Duncan left without a last game.
And I would add Nov 23rd vs LAC because people will not forget the Deandras of this world. He was able to make it a rivalry by himself.
Personally, I am waiting for those Rockets games... How unfortunate that there is no Rockets game after December. Would've enjoyed seeing their buttoms whooped in fall and spring.
I do not even put any importance on the game vs Grizzlies. I am much more interested in seeing how their system works with Parsons than actually seeing Mavs play against him. ESPN also tried to make some weird rivalry out of it How will Mark Cuban greet his former player -- and friend? It was the Mavs that let him go... That game means more to Parsons than the Mavs.

Initially I wanted to see the Bulls on Dec 3, but I think I will wait for March 3 and catch the Grizzlies. Would love to see Bogut/Acy/Mejri rock Parsons

Can anyone assist in getting decent seats? Looking at ticket master most tickets are gone for March 3. Or are on secondary sites. Is there an alternative route?

Possibly, but Im going to be flying to Dallas and would prefer to have tickets prior to the flight instead of going to Dallas and missing the game.

Just got my tickets for March 17....76ers vs MAVS. I have been trying to go since last year knowing that any season could be Dirk's last and I would love to watch him play. My only fear is that he sits on that day. I am driving 3 hours to the game and have pretty good seats because its Philly
Another good thing is that B. Simmons should be back by then and Philly actually has a decent young team. So I am VERY EXCITED
This will be my first professional basketball game ever....and of course my first MAVS GAME
