Shaken, with Cyber Friend Tragedy

What do you say? What do you do?

When a person you only know through the internet and you are friends via cyberspace, simply due to being fans of the Dallas Cowboys...and you get a message that their Daughter was killed in a car accident...

Cyberspace can and does bleed into reality...I'm shaken today and at a loss of how to respond?

I'm pretty sure prayer works the same whether you know someone in real life or through cyberspace, if that's your thing...

Life is precious - sorry for their loss.

What do you do when someone you know dies? Do that. I think in a moment of pain like that the family appreciates every and any support. If you were close enough to the person, even if only online, I'd try to attend services, but that's a tough call. That's just what I'd do personally. I'm sorry for your loss, 92bDad.

Having friendships is one of God's gifts that bring great joy to our lives. If friendship is formed through personal one on one time or by happenstance of cyberstance, your feelings are real in both cases. Along with the all joy that we experience, we must also except the sad and painful times that might be experienced.

Just let this person know that you are there for them, that you are praying for them, and that you are willing to help in any way that they need you.

Plus, it's alot easier to "sound" sincere over the internet regardless of how you really feel.
