The Byron Nelson
Anyone planning on watching this event, or on attending it, this year?

I'm pretty excited about going tomorrow. This will be the first time I've ever gone to this kind of event.

The pavillion is a madhouse. Not going this year, but I am going to the Colonial. Colonial is much better for watching golf, anyway.

RE:The Byron Nelson
Did I ever tell you guys I met Tiger Woods once? He was playing in a Junior PGA tournament at the course I worked at in high school. He was 14.
And yes, he won.

I met Justin Leonard at Snuffers a few years ago. My wife has the hots for him, so I had to embarass her. I mentioned that we were going to Hilton Head the next week and he said Harbor Town was a nice course (he's won there 2 or 3 times). We go to the same church, too. Of course, there are like 5,000 members so it isn't like we hang out.

RE:The Byron Nelson
We had passes to the Meryl Lynch villa, right on the driving range, so it wasn't a mad house at all. Wednesday was Pro Am day too, so there weren't throngs separating us from the players. It was really wild to be "right there" with these guys who we watch on TV and read about in magazines. I haven't been that close to Sergio Garcia since we worked out at the Worthington in Ft. Worth (Colonial in '03). Actually, I worked out, and he flirted with the pretty senorita behind the counter.
Sergio was in a really playful mood Wednesday - taking self portraits with a guy, teasing "Joe" (who I guess adjusts his clubs), talking to the people around him. I don't have a thing for him, but my fiance always says "There's your guy..." when we see him.
It was funny to watch Shigeki Maruyama playfully toss a golf ball at Kevin Na's back (on the driving range). Kevin whipped around with this "what the H@!!" look on his face, and then they both started laughing and greeting each other like old friends.
Todd Hamilton is a member at my fiance's club, but I've never been there when he's been in town. I think he has lives on a course up in Prosper now. I guess Hank Kuehne is a member too.

RE:The Byron Nelson
Tiger Wood's streak of making the cut in 144 straight tournaments is over!

I think this is much longer than Byron's own streak of straight tournaments without a cut. Should be pretty awe-inspiring, but it is not a surprise when it comes to Tiger.
