Everyone Chill!!!!
Its one game,Avery will adjust and its time to play Mavs ball.I do wish he would have tried this experiment in that last regular match up with them.Dirk cannot play Center. Its time to go back to Mavs ball. This streetball team isnt going anywhere.I knew we would lose the first one, just like the Spurs.Calm down, thats why its a 7 game series.

You haven't learned by now that knee jerking is a normal response on this board after a loss?
Now if we lose Wednesday night I will be alone in the corner of a dark cold room with no food, suffering and shivering..... but right now? It's all good.... (but starting a center not named Dirk would be appreciated)

Normally I would agree with this.
But two factors make me very worried.
1. Avery is at least claiming that there will be no change to his strategy in game two.
2. Golden State is a HORRENDOUS road team, and a very, very salty home team, and now they have home court advantage.

Like I said in the other thread. I'm tough to break. I don't normally kneejerk.
But I'm losing faith in this team right now. If Avery coaches it right and Dirk shows up, nothing can stop them. But I need some tangible reassurance that either will happen at some point in this series.

You just really shouldn't lose faith after 1 game. Basketball is meant to be enjoyed. If you can't take some losses, you should not be a fan.
It's like I tell my 6-year old son. If you are frustrated with a game to the point that you aren't enjoying it, you are doing something wrong. It's a game, not surgery.

Did you read what I said? This isn't how I usually react. People have been kneejerking all season and I never did. And I am more than confident they can handle it, but there is legitimate concern whether they will. If they're blindly charging ahead, playing into Golden State's hands then yes they will lose. There are a million and one ways to beat that mediocre team, but I'm still waiting for them to find one.
Don't insult my fandom, man. Don't make me come over there and kick your ass.

It's a natural human feeling to have pride, and my pride gets hurt when ever my team loses badly .

Stop saying it's just one game... Warriors have won seven of the last eight against the Mavs. If there is a definition of "having their number", this is it.

knee-jerk (nē'jûrk')
adj. Slang

1. avery also claimed to play damp as starting center....
2. the mavs have played almost equally well on the road as at home so that doesnt worry me at all (not against GSW anyways)
all im worried about is avery noticing that dirk is not a center and stack is not a forward and players are better if you play them on positions they have played on in 95% of their last 1000 games.

It's the Playoffs - every game is a must-win for every team (even when they're up 3-0 in the series...)

I really have a hard time understanding this. So many people (including ESPN, TNT, etc) seem to think that this GSW team has beaten the Mavs seven in a row. The fact is that three of those losses were a different team with a different coach. IMO, the the present Warriors team has beaten this Mavs team exactly two times. Once after a long winning streak and last night. The other losses are meaningless imo.

if our own fans cant even show confidence in the mavs then why would the TV reporters or the players have confidence in them? .. seriously....

um, because they get paid millions of dollars to do so. Their whole campaign this year is to shake the label of "chokers". And nobody but the guys in uniform can do that.

If we play normal Mavs Ball and kick the outta them wednesday that will shock them bad. They think they own us easily they have a swagger.Ask Shaq if he is panicking after his team lost.No he isnt and he isnt on the mavs,I am confident we will control this team eventually, starting wednesday. This streetball crap only lasts so long,we lost basically cause we missed too many open shots, and Beardman was lucky as hell.We missed 6 open layups in first half.We beat ourselves last night and thats with the strange lineup.

Our problem yesterday more than anything else was offense. 84 points? What's our average, like 100? We score our average, we win.
This was a funny, ha-ha win by the Warriors. Kinda like our win against the kings when we got bounced off the 1st round a couple years back

I hate kneejerking, but this game called for it. The Mavs need to get their act together.

I'm not goin to knee-jerk, I just hope that Avery does something about the rebounding. We may be forced to put Dampier in, and play zone for 90% of the game, give them their own medicine.

You should see dallasbasketball.com
all I see is "dirk sucks" "fire avery" etc
Usually I get worried pretty easy, but Mavs in 5 or 6 still.

At first I thought the wait for Wednesday would be grueling. But seriously, the more time this team has to get it together, the better.
