Do you guys think?
Do you guys think that another coach that has been angered by or inspired by Nellies hack-a-Shaq/bowen will attempt to hack-a-walker before the season is over? He is as bad a ft shooter and that would make the game a half court game which would favor either the Lakers or the Spurs if they did it. An example would be we are running the lakers and they decide they dont want to so they just put it in Rush or russel or whoever and foul Walker repeatedly. I would hope not. The reason it backfires on the mavs is that they are a better running offense than a half-court offense. If the lakers or spurs did it they could still just throw it to Shaq/Duncan and be very hard to defend. I really don't know why I am writing this but just thought about it so decided to see what you guys think.
P.s. The mavs have never really had a guy that someone could hack(I mean since they got good again)

RE:Do you guys think?
I don't think so because we don't have nearly as unstoppable a player as shaq/duncan. The problem with those guys is that once you throw it in to them and shaq is allowed to bang his rear into the defender, he can't be stopped. Duncan just can't be stopped period.
I could see it happening maybe, but I also think that by the end of the year walker will be shooting at 70%.

RE:Do you guys think?
Thanks for the opinion and actually when he is motivated Shawn Bradley is the best Duncan defender their is. He is close to as quick and his length gives duncan problems when Bradley plays hard and smart(a rare combination) Don't laugh he really is.

RE:Do you guys think?
You won't get a laugh from me. I'm one of the biggest supporters of bradley at the arena and out of it. I wish that the mavs would spend some money to get him better balance, probably some martial arts training would help. I think his biggest problem is keeping his feet.
Hearing very ignorant fans yelling at bradley is the worst part of the arena experience to me. For some reason fans think bradley should get every rebound and never be dunked on. I don't see the same kind of stuff for yao ming who doesn't get every rebound and gets dunked on (just like everyone in the nba).

RE: Do you guys think?
I hope somebody does start hacking Walker on purpose. Maybe it'll embarass him to the point that he makes it a priority to improve.

Not likely.... I think Walker will always make it a point to let NASH have the ball in late-game situations where FREE-THROWS are necessary.

RE: Do you guys think?
I don't think it will happen. In crunch time, Nash will run the point and Dirk is the go-to guy, so Walker will basically be cutting to the basket, or catching and shooting. Very small window of oppertunity to foul him without setting up a 3 or 4 point play oppertunity.

RE:Do you guys think?
I dont mean when he gets the ball I mean like we do to Shaq and Bowen (foul off the ball before the last 2 minutes of the game) doubt anyone else would do it because everyone else usually plays straight up but with walker they COULD do it.

RE: Do you guys think?
It's possible, but it bogs the game down. Teams can't afford to slow their own offense down against a more potent scoring team like Dallas.
besides, it won't happen because no other team is led by Don Nelson.

That's the whole point. Foul to get the Mavs out of their offense. Teams that run the half court set would benefit more from the hack-a-whoever strategy moreso than an open court team like the Mavs.
I couldn't believe the played hack-a-Bowen last year. What a joke a teams defense must be to play that game, I can't imagine it sits well on competetive players minds. Still it's fair game but IMO it's still chicken-sh!t when you fould off the ball.
Isn't Fortson is a poor FT shooter as well?

WOW, I hate this tactic. I think it's done to try and throw teams off more than anything, but it seems to throw the Mavs off as much as their opponents.
As for Fortson, he's not a good FT shooter, but he's a heck of a lot better than walker at this point.

RE:Do you guys think?
Thank you for understanding my point that it would favor a half court team more. No fortson has been in the 70s the last couple of years so he isn't that bad. After walker najera is the worst or has been traditionally didnt look up their stats for this year.

San Antonio has used the Hack a Shaq before and thier defense is no joke, and from the Mav's comments they were perfectly alright with watching Shaq brick free throws in the last meeting.
Fortson is doesn't get many minutes at the end of big games, but a free throw shooting contest between Shaq and Walker would be hilarious. That could be Phil's most effective strategy against the Hack a Shaq, and would probably get the league to do something about it.

Hack-A-Walker isn't happening. It would be nice to see them piss him off though. I bet it would make Walker take more shots and eventually freeze out the other Mavs. Walker taking most of the shots is bad news.

Yeah but you know what that means, don't you? It means that the Mavs will lose the game probably.
You don't want the Mavs to lose the game, do you?
But in all seriousness, I think Repetition is what Walker needs. In other words :
HE DOES *NOT* GET TO THE LINE OFTEN ENOUGH!
Okay?
Like tonight for example.....He was at the line 8 times, made 5. While that is average/mediocre/whatever to Mavs Standards(and all other NBA team standards...lol ), It's outstanding for Antoine.
If he consistently gets to the line, he would develop a rhythm that would help him make MORE Free Throws than misses...
