TORONTO (AP) -- Toronto Raptors guard Alvin Williams had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee and ankle, the second operation on his knees in five weeks.
The team said Tuesday that the latest surgery was to remove inflammation from the knee and bone spurs from the ankle.
Williams had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on May 13. He is scheduled to begin rehabilitation following a brief recovery period.
Williams averaged a career-best 11.8 points and a team-leading 5.7 assists last season, when he was the lone Raptor to appear in all 82 games. He also averaged 12 points and 5.6 assists in the playoffs.
