Default The REAL reason Ron Paul is so popular with college students.

So THIS is why they applaud his monetary policy so much. And why they are really upset about the export-encouraging dollar. It's so obvious that I missed it!

Why is Ron Paul being met with standing ovations from college students when he speaks on monetary policy? The answer is beginning to become clear to me.

“It’s very simple,” Stephen Easton, professor of economics at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, tells the paper. “Canadian marijuana production costs are met in Canadian dollars, and those are worth more now.”

But as a result, it’s harder to sell the crop, he notes. “With exports no longer viable, the British Columbia marijuana industry has certainly taken a hit, so to speak,” he says.

In 2000, the university published a study estimating the value of Canada’s marijuana crop at $5 billion, with about 90% of it going to the U.S., the paper reports.

Damn, nothing like a stereotype to get a thread rolling.

I think Ron Paul has appeal to youth because he represents a real alternative.

To a generation that has spent >75% of its life under a Bush-Clinton-Clinton-Bush-Bush rule, and faced with another four years of Clinton or some watery version of Clinton, the freedom of choice becomes valuable.

Even if the odds are longer.

Give me 10 million stoned college kids, if that's what it takes to get some people to start reading the Consititution once in a while, rather than thinking it's the federal government's job to do everything.

Bring on the stoners!!

I got 9 months of Reagan and 19 years of Bushes and Clinton. It's ridiculous. I'd vote for Salvador Allende as long as he wasn't anyone named Bush or Clinton.

My buddy and I were talking today about how it would be to have clinton in the white house. We'd have to put up with bubba yaking around every 5 seconds and I guess taking up for the little woman. Yuck..
