i really think the aquisition of wahad is a good move for the mavericks. sure his contract is one of the worst in history, but hes one more of what the mavericks sorely lack. and that is a defensive stopper.

the mavericks werent going to be in position to make a run at one of the big free agents anyways, and wahad at the least gives them somebody they can stick on kobe, vince, and others when griffith needs a rest. griffith and buckner are walking injuries, so this gives us a 3rd defensive stopper that we sorely needed.

He sounds like a prime candidate for the IR if you ask me. We can't have three defensive oriented SG/SFs on the active roster.

i think you'll see wahad guarding more forwards than guards. hes more muscular and able to bang with people better than saying griffith could.
