Default Least favorite band EVER!

Okay this thread is your chance to flip off the music gods. List one or more bands that are really popular that you can't stand at all. They have to be popular to count though, no point in listing off bands we've never heard of.

I'll start off with the rolling stones, I honestly can't stand any of their music.

Elvis too.

Not my least favorite, but I enjoy very little of what Pearl Jam does, and they're considered music gods.

Same with U2.

Well, they are actually my absolute favorite metal band of all time so for someone to actually nominate them for their least favorite band of ALL TIME is just outstandingly moronic IN MY OPINION.

I'm with you on that one. U2 pre-Joshua Tree=greatness, post-Joshua Tree=no thanks. As for "popular" bands today, I can't stand the Pussycat Dolls or The Blackeyed Peas. I just don't get them. Guess if you are skinny and pretty you can sell anything.

really, has there ever been a more obnoxious band than the barenaked ladies? and those tools sell a lot of records, too.

Fluid,

E-40 has been around since the early 90s, and is considered a pioneer of the Southern hip-hop movement.

And to say you like rap but hate Notorious B.I.G. is ridiculous.

i don't think barenaked ladies are obnoxious. they're just guys singing catchy, often silly, songs. and if people buy that, more power to them. they're doing what they want, and haven't sold out to make less silly music that might be more popular. and it worked for them, cause they still sell lots of records.

i will say that "one week", although catchy and probably their most popular song, is my least favorite of theirs.

as far as the metallica thing, hey, some people don't like certain bands. i'm sure some people freakin' love fergie, but i think she's the most overrated singer on the planet. and she likes to pee her pants on stage.

i'll also agree on U2 a tiny bit. i loved their early stuff. now it's just ok. not horrible, but ok.

enough of the pearl jam dissing. those guys ARE musical gods.

but i do agree on nickelback (VERY overrated), and i'll throw out Limp Bizkit. god i hate fred durst.

fluid, i'm not a huge stones fan, and honestly don't like their stuff like "satisfaction" and "jumping jack flash". but have you heard "paint it black" and "wild horses"? two of my all-time favorite songs, period, and both by the stones.

I know he has been around since the early 90s.. but he is recently hitting main stream, and his songs are the exact same style as the ones "new" rappers are putting out. It still sucks, no matter how long he's been around.

And I love rap history, but I just don't like Bigs rapping... I'm a 2pac guy. Don't get me wrong dude, I understand what he did and what he means to the music... but I just dont like him. He's like Puffy with talent.

no, dan, i do like metallica. not ALL their stuff, but a lot of it. i just think it's overboard to call someone moronic for having a differing taste in music. art tastes (music, cinema, paintings, etc.) are all subjective.

I don't take any thing Dan says personally. I do have a background in music, so anything he says on the subject doesn't even come close to grazing the skin. ;-)

It took me a while to like metal. I think once you pick up a guitar, or I guess any instrument, you learn to appreciate some music even more. There's not a lot out there than can top the opening solo in Fade to Black IMO.

I hate some emo bands that have lyrics complaining about their parents and stuff. Like Simple Plan. It's like STFU!

Man..... so many people I used to respect..... breaks my heart....

I love Metallica too..... can't believe that would be anyone's least favorite band ever.....

I mean with bands like "N'Sync", "Milli Vanili", etc.... to lump Metallica as worse is just beyond logical reasoning (and U2...... Rolling Stones?).....

Again, for me, those bands are a given. I was simply pointing bands that a lot of people love (or even name themselves after ) that I find highly overrated.

Perhaps I should start the most overrated band ever thread.

I saw Nickelback with 3 doors down in 99 or '00 before they got all big and gay. and man did they kick ass.... their older stuff kicked ass, and they liked to drink on stage. It was greatness....

And despite Metallicas last record, they're greatness.

And my least favorite band is..... insert a country band here: _______________

I used to hate Nickelback a lot, then the song "photograph" came out around the time I was graduating from high school. I like the song, and what the song meant at the time, but now that the song is off the air I hate them again.

How could you differentiate that song from any of their others?

so many to hate.

As far as older music, I want to puke any time I hear supertramp or eddie money. I used to feel the same of jimmy buffet and the eagles, but as I've grown older they've become more tolerable.

As for newr bands, I can't stand Limp Bizkit.. especially that worthless no talent lead singer / rapper they have. The same thing goes for anyone in that poseur metal / rap fusion movement they championed, including bands like stained, lincon park, slipknot, etc. It's all worthless crap as far as I'm concerned.

I agree. I use to like Linkin Park but now they seem like they are targeting only the teenage age group or something I can't put my finger on. Don't like them anymore.

Blue October.... anoying.

I like Linkin Park. That is, their studio albums.

All that other sh$t with jay z and the reanimation and this and that and blah blah blah I dont care about or pay any attention to. But I do look forward to their next studio album.

Did you hear the Jay Z stuff? It was really good if you like Jay Z too... they just mixed the songs together and it worked pretty well.

My hatred for metallica probably stems from "mandatory metallica hour" on the eagle (i think..it's been a while). I used to LOVE that radio station. Of course, at 4 o'clock (or whatever it was), I'd have to turn it off because of that crap. Metallica has a few songs I like...don't get me wrong. But to have that devoted a fanbase/fanatics...puzzles me. Overrated.

In all seriousness Ark, it just truly puzzles me that out of all of the bands on the planet Earth, (and we aren't even counting the shitty ones from Sike's planet - like U2 - score!!! ), you would think one of the most loved bands of absolutely all time would be your LEAST FAVORITE EVER!!! I guess to be honest, I just don't believe you. Maybe, MAYBE, I could buy it is your choice for most overrated, but again, so MANY MANY more bands come to mind instantly for that as well.

There is some shitty ass music out there Ark... Some really horrible stuff from some popular guys. I just can't believe that anyone truly feels that the band that played such an important role in my life would be the worst of all time. I simply can't buy it. The music is just too good.

Well yeah, overrated is probably a better description. Although, I really do hate them.
