Cavs owner Dan Gilbert is determined to get his 18-33 team into the playoffs (currently four games out), as he made clear with his decisions to rent Luol Deng for a half a season and to fire former GM Chris Grant. If nothing else, Griffin's quotes seem to diminish the odds that productive veterans like Deng or Anderson Varejao will be traded away before the Feb. 20 deadline.
