Off topic but hey, we're not getting Ben Wallace anyway.
I agree. Since I only think the Odem and Kobe, and probably Mihm are worth keeping though, wouldn't it pay for them to come up with a way. I am not sure how, but they would be scary if they actually had a way to stop people. Kobe and Odem could carry the weight on the offensive end, and Wallace would put them in a descent position defensively to compete with Amare.

Admittedly, they still would need some defensive minded pure shooters (ie Derek Fischer), but that team could get scary good in a hurry if they could defensively improve their frontcourt.

He would be good for us if Amare comes back strong, but I'm doubting that happens the more and more I think about it.

Yep - I think he's overrated too. The media - especially the very shitty ESPN - latches on to gritty players like this and makes them superstars.

And about the Amare thing: when he came back this year all the talk was about how he might NEVER be the same. Now that talk is all but forgotten with people talking about how he's going to dominate next year. I've still gotta believe the earlier reports that talked about how bad both knees were and how he's lost some agility, leaping, etc.

Well if he does come back "dominant" he'll be the first I think. Not a great bet, but Amare was pretty smart getting a contract first, that's for sure.

Smart? Yeah, smart like Boozer.

The more I think about it, the more surprised I am that people haven't been harder on Amare. He did what he had to do, but I think he knew he was about to sign a contract for "damaged goods".

May explain Colangelo's departure, come to think of it.
