I would agree that Austin is nothing like Dallas, yes.

And although I haven't been there in a while, I am guessing there are very few Mavs fans walking around in Taiwan. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

I actually live in Texas mavsman... but just wanted you to know that I love your little town. I have an office there I support, we are in PPG 1 (the PPG buildings are the ones that look like castles - although you probably know that). That square there that has live music every day at lunch is kick.

Two bad things though about Pittsburgh: 1. It gets too cold. 2. You have to go to a government store to buy Beer.

But other than that I love that town.

You can by a refrigerated six pack from a bar and leave with it though. If you buy beer from a government store you have to buy a case and its illegal for the store to refrigerate it.

That's wild! Wow. My older friends can buy alcohol chilled and in any size nearly 24-7 (I think there are 3 hours when you can't on Sunday morning).

In Texas you can't buy beer past midnight, and no liquor past nine. On Saturday you can buy beer until 1:00 AM, and on Sunday you can't buy liquor at all. What's strange is that bars can serve alcohol until 2:00 AM. Somehow its OK to drink later if you plan to drive home? Who knows where they get this crap? Pennsylvania and Utah are definately the most restrictive states I have ever been to.

I live in Munich/Germany where you have to walk a lot of streets to find another Mavs fan. Being a Mavs over here feels like being a field-hockey maniac in Alaska.

You must live in one of them famed Texas "dry" counties, huh?

Because on some of my trips to Texas, I've bought beer and liquor well past these times, deep into the night. And they werent always purchased at the club or bar either. And believe it or not, I've bought liquor on Sunday's in Texas too.........
