Of course we have a big man problem, but the FO chose to not do anything about it.

I mean Kidd is right: if Lively works out, we are okay.
But Lively is not ready.

Well I'm glad we're starting him and Omax and not making another Hardy mistake.

This won't last long. 100%. This is Kidd pacifying the outrage to change just like with McGee. He is 1 of about 10 people on thr planet that finds comfort in DP. The only question is, IF Lively starts, how many games does it last?

The flip side is Lively need only be better than Powell to keep starting.
If he can't beat out Powell, then we wasted a lottery pick.
I actually see Omax being overtaken by Green before Lively.

Token starts
His ass going to end up on the bench just like Mcgee and the excuse will be that Powell has all the metrics that justify him starting
I think they won't start Holmes because they know it will become way too obvious if he's out there it will shine a light on him being better than Powell
This organization ain't fooling no one at the end of the day I fully expect the same retread players powell, thj and maxi all find themselves getting major minutes again

You might be on to something here... I was really disappointed that Powell was the first C off the bench and that he got 16 min to Holmes 9 mins.
In a game where you start a rook (Lively) at C against Gobert to see what he has - you also need to see what your new Vet C Holmes can provide. The Kidd holding the coaching title should not play Cuban politics when it comes to playing time. One of my few displeases of this 1st preseason game.

I guess I dont get all of the hype on Holmes being the answer to our frontcourt issues. The guy is the same size as OMax.

Holmes only getting 9 minutes is more than a bit ridiculous (2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block). Lively with 15 mins (2 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block) and he picked up four fouls. Morris continues to produce in very limited minutes (6 minutes, 3 points, 2 assists, 1 rebound, 1 steal, 1 block) if you look back at his performance during last season. Early days still, but relying on Powell (16 minutes) is absurd, but on the other hand expected given past history. Kidd gets no benefits of the doubt. If the Mavs don't change the story line about their glaring weaknesses, then he should be gone before mid-season. They have enough new talent to make a difference. It may not be enough of a difference but same old, same old is not acceptable. Might try playing Holmes and Morris a bit more and limiting the mpg for Powell and Maxi. We know what they can do..

The fouls are exactly why I said he won?t be getting much burn in his first year per game. Summer league he stayed getting called for fouls.
I hope Holmes is ready to make some noise because the opportunity will be there.
