Dude is averaging a 26 PER in his rookie season so he's already eclipsed Oden or are you predicting a major injury?

Yeah well until then I'm concerned about the mavs trying to get away with playing a small front line tonight
I just don't see how DFS can defend Zion at the 4 spot inside
They lineup Favors, Zion and Ingram up front all together so it'll be interesting to see if Dallas sticks with DFS at 4 and THJ at 3 leaving them to defend Zion and Ingram bigger players
Or if the Mavs insert Maxi into the starting lineup and move DFS back to his natural 3 position.
New Orleans is a bad defensive team though so hopefully the Mavs can take advantage of them on the other end of the floor.

I think Zion is awesome, and I love to watch him play, but I do have concerns about his health due to his build. I wish him nothing but the best and a long, healthy career. The two positions are not mutually exclusive. Are fans who have concerns about KP's health long-term also haters?
Some people are just way too sensitive.

I hope this isn't true about WCS and possible dog house
DONUT 5: Willie Cauley-Stein Whereabouts
The last time Willie Cauley-Stein saw the floor for the Dallas Mavericks was on February 12, for about four minutes. The game before that, he played five minutes. The game before that one he logged 25 minutes, went 7-of-7 from the floor, had 10 rebounds, an assist, and two blocks. Since then he’s had a nearly two-week sabbatical sandwiched between two DNP-CDs (Did Not Play, Coach’s Decision).
It turns out that Cauley-Stein was away from the team because of a death in the family—so it may not be a repeat of the Nerlens Noel situation. Still, it’s weird that Cauley-Stein didn’t play against Chicago Monday night. Yeah, I know he hasn’t had practice time ... but he hadn’t practiced much before suiting up when he got to town either.
If he’s not in Rick’s doghouse (yes, we know the coach hates that word), it’s strange for Carlisle to leave an athletic big man on the bench on a night when his team is decimated by injuries and short on interior depth.

Nerlens Noel played every night he was available the year he became a Maverick. They offered him a big contract and he declined it. If WCS is a repeat of the NN situation, it means the Mavs are all in on him as the starting center. It won’t be a repeat of that, though. Because Porzingis is the starting center.

Anybody have an over under number for the number of games before WCS decides it's time for him to move on and he grabs a hot dog? ;-)

It was already decided he was moving on before that season started. Any playing time he got was for him and his agent.

It’s pretty much useless to discuss this with you two. You can’t even be bothered to look at game logs, and can’t even recall the events of three summers ago. Fish ought to know better though.

Sorry, buddy. My comment reads more harshly then I meant it. Just meant that we aren’t going to agree on the idea that Noel was mistreated or run out of here by Carlisle. If it were up to me I would start Maxi and Porzingis, and give wcs the majority of the backup center minutes.

Don't worry about it. I get it. Yeah, Noel was a knucklehead, but he was also a young kid who has basically had people fawning all over him and his potential for years telling him how great he was and what he deserved. I think when he rejected the Mavs' offer, which was a great one imo, he made a dumb move, and it pissed off the MBT. However, with the passage of time, kids can mature, and Noel never struck me as a bad apple. He seemed more the happy-go-lucky Josh Howard type to me, so I would've cut him some more slack myself. I'd have let him play the season out and played him every minute I could just to see if he really was worth the investment. Instead, the Mavs got a little petty in the way they reacted imo. Just because things may not work out one way or the other doesn't mean that a different, better road couldn't have been tried.

We’re starting the 4th quarter of the season and I just hope the way we close games in the 4th quarter isn’t a microcosm of how we will finish the season.

Hmmm
Interesting because I don't recall WCS playing in every game last month when he suited up
I could have swore dude had a couple of DNP'S
But that article does make you scratch your head regarding the inconsistency in his playing time especially since we can all agree he's a mobile big not slow at all and can play or matchup vs big or small lineups do to his athleticism which is on par with a younger version of Tyson Chandler IMO

Someone wrote a column in The Ringer about Luka vs. Zion being the future of the league and how its weird no ones talking about the matchup. Not a peep on ESPN. They do have a story about how LeBron, shocker, likes playing with AD.

I saw something on ESPN earlier about it. They had a poll on which player you’d rather have to build your franchise around (Luka was winning in a landslide last I saw).

I think Curry and Kleber are almost considered untouchable right now due to their long value contracts.
No way they trade them in a marginal trade. And we dont have the ammo for another star trade like Beal etc

Agreed. I’d prob throw DFS in that list as well. Not that he’s been playing quite as well as those other guys, but the font office really likes him. Outside of a move for a star player I don’t think those guys are going anywhere, and I’m okay with that.
