I find this a little rediculous about the pricing of this auction regarding the homerun ball between McGwire and Bonds

The man who paid $3.2 million for Mark McGwire's 70th home run ball in 1999, bought the one Barry Bonds' hit for his record 73rd at an auction Wednesday for $450,000

I do not think price difference is surprising. Mc Wire broke a record which was intact for long period of time. Bonds broke Mc Wire's record after Mc Gwire proved one can hit that many home runs.
