Default RE:The 2003 NBA Draft revisited

If you have Dirk and Jet on one side, I'm sure it would be pretty easy to clear enough space to post up Marquis.

I think the big difference that both sides are coming from is whether the 3pt. threat needs to start or come off the bench. I'm fine with having more 3pt. shooters on the team, but I don't see it as a must in the starting lineup.

Finley is a nice asset, just as Brent Barry is for the Spurs, or Lindsey Hunter for the pistons, or JJ for Phx, but all of those guys come off the bench. Finley, for what he does and has become, is a bench player, but no one is going to pay him to do that, hence the waiving.

People don't understand that. For some reason, they see Finley and they see a guy who deserves 30+ minutes a game.

A healthy Fin can be quite effective as a 30+ mpg starter. I wouldn't ever ask him to play 38 mpg again, but if you think all that guy is is a 20 minute per game bench player, well, all I can say is that I think a lot of people on the various Maverick message boards are going to end up eating an awful lot of crow next year.
