Default Avery on the Ticket

- In Jackson Mississippi at Damp's basketball camp.
- He’s only coaching in the Vegas camp next week
- Still wants to run some offense through Quis. “You need guards that can penetrate”. “He has skills that we sorely need”
- Not sure if DJ or Pavel are ready to be backups. We’ll see this summer.
- I lose sleep with the possibility that a lot of those guys (Finley) may not be there. A lot of them are strong character guys. But we have to have some financial flexibility like the Pistons and the Spurs
- Dirk can’t allow teams to play 6’6 small forwards on him without paying the price. Has to get more offensive rebounds, has to continue to play defense as a 4 and a 3. I don’t like playing him as a center.
- Josh should be vying for the all defensive team…he’s not there yet.
- JT’s come a long way. At certain points of the season and playoffs, no PG was playing better. “I’m looking forward to him being one of the best PG’s in the NBA next year”. Needs to improve defensively.

Thanks, dirno. Any discussion of the UFA's that are currently slated to play summer league?

I wonder what "points of the season" those were (with regard to JET). I hate that there were some Mavericks games I didn't know about. It's good to hear that at times our guy was outplaying Nash in the playoffs, though. I really wish I had been able to watch those games.

The points were when A) during the regular season he was playing the two man game with Dampier successfully or B) In the playoffs when his shots were dropping

The times were when he was hitting over 70% from 3 and 60+% from the field while averaging over 7 assists. Also when he lit up Houston winning a couple of games that without him we lose and go home.

That's When!

Boohoo! Finley might get cut. Nash is no longer a mav. Who cares? I root for the jersey not for the player.

He was the reason we advanced to round 2. No one in the playoffs out played stevie nash.

Remarks like that get tossed around all the time here, and it's bullsh*t. Jet isn't any less of a point guard than is Tony Parker.

Lol! The image of a jersey on lying the floor with thousands screaming at the top of their lungs just popped into my head.

I really can't think of many people that are more a PG than Jason Terry. There are only two big name players that I consider true PGs, and they are Nash and Kidd.

He is a good point guard, but he is such a good shooter that he is better as the Shooting Guard. On offence, he should be the 2 on the plays. That was the reason he lit up in Houston. We went small and Darrell and Harris ran the point and he played the 2.
