That is a 212 difference.

And that is how many fewer games Dirk has played than Kevin Garnett.

And he has STILL overtaken him.

That is amazing.
Only one of these guys led their team to a championship - the other piggybacked.

Dirk has always done more with less.

BOOM!

Number one reason why I love Dirk - quiet leadership. He is a flat out stud baller.

I plan on being there the day they unveil his statue and maybe fly to the half of fame when he is inducted!

Dirk is such a cold-blooded gangster. Most clutch player in the NBA. He now has 37 points in the last 3 4th quarters...

With Davis hurt, I think Dirk has reclaimed the best PF spot in the NBA. His numbers vs. Love.

23.5 PER, 60% TS%, 118 ORtg, 106 DRtg, .202 WS/48

25.6 PER, 56% TS%, 116 ORtg, 101 DRtg, .234 WS/48

Love has slightly better overall numbers...but he's been on a downward slide, especially efficiency wise (FG% down to 44%). I don't buy the "empty numbers" argument wholesale...but, I don't think he makes the same impact Dirk does, because he's not a dominant ISO-scorer like Dirk. Also, that T-Wolves team is more talented than the Mavs, overall, and Love has them under .500. Obviously I'm not saying that's all on him, he's been a beast...but I'm confident Dirk has that team over .500.

Imagine how many trips to the ECF/Finals Dirk would have had if the Mavs were in the East.

Lol too true. Ill cry the day Dirk is no longer able to create his own shot. But even then, he'd be worlds better than KG is right now.

Yeah if Dirk was in the East, you are looking at an easy all-star bid + all-nba team.....

I know. But seeding plays a factor in it just as it does with other awards. There is a reason why you rarely see all-nba teams come from the "bottom" teams.

50 wins as the 7th seed? 50 wins as the 3rd seed? Voters are more likely to give accolades to the 3rd seeded team.

Dirk is producing .200 WS/48, his best since the championship year.

He's still dominating.

Does anyone have a RealGM account I could use? I signed up for an account, but they have an idiotic 100 day waiting period to post. There's a thread on "Are the Mavs are legit?" Where some clowns are claiming LMA is better than Dirk. I'd like to post some facts. I promise not to get your account banned, or if you'd prefer, I can write the post and just PM it to you to post on RealGM.

Dirk is the 3rd best scorer coming off of screens, per Synergy. He's the 26th best scoring roll-man.

He has a True Shooting % above 60. The Mavs are 7.5 points per 100 possessions better when he's playing.

Dirk is 10th in the league in Catch-and-Shoot FG% among players who have made 100 points or more on spot-ups. Dirk is 1st in Catch-and-Shoot FG% among players who've made at least 170 points on such shots, beating only Klay Thompson.

And, despite everything, it seems like he has still lost a step. Dirk is amazing. We're all lucky to have him."

See, this is why I want to make a post on RealGM.

http://forums.realgm.com/boards/view...?f=6&t=1289317

The user, "CoachKobe" even shows the stats. Dirk is, significantly so, outplaying LMA this year, yet people seem to just want to ignore the facts.

BTW, Monta is no longer the Mavs leading scorer. So maybe now people can quit with that rhetoric (even though he was doing it in more minutes, on more shots, and less efficiently...)

He is what he is. A high usage rate player that doesn't contribute to a lot of wins when you look at advanced stats. He's had TWO seasons in which he posted a WS/48 better than .100. Even DeJuan f'ing Blair is better in that regard.

On the other hand, you have Dirk who is posting an elite .200 WS/48, his best since '11, yet isn't the primary scorer down the stretch for some unknown goddamn reason.

This thread is about Dirk's greatness - take the anti-Ellis agenda elsewhere.

You're right. I just wanted to reaffirm the notion that Dirk is still by far the best player on this team when it comes to leading the team to wins.

I was playing around on Synergy today. Dirk is 5th...in THE NBA, on post-up defense. Only giving up .51 PPP.

I'm surprised with Dirk's defense in the post this year. In the past he had trouble guarding guys 1-on-1 but was solid when boxing out and closing out on jumpers.
